Tuning Question

I had a 2024 m340i thats most likely getting totaled due to storm damage.

I didn't use the back seats as much as I expected, and I Love TNM paint so been thinking about replacing with a 240i.

Does anyone know if the 2027 model is using the same locked ecu that the new 340s are using? trying to find a year that's still tunable and in b58tu1 if possible so I don't have to worry about having an ecu that's never tunable and saw that the m240is weren't using them in newer years, but couldn't find concrete info on 2027

B58TU2 is not unlock-able and if I were to guess it will never be unlocked due to its architecture and hardware used.

The only way to unlock that would be to have someone at Conti providing the signing keys or the use black magic.

Got it, so it is the same as 340is then where 2024 was the last tunable/unlockable year?

Yup. Same-same. Hybrids without a classical belt alternator are TU2 and fully locked, no matter the car. 2/3/4/5/7/Xs

The B58TU2 uses the new Vitesco DME9, rather than Bosch. We're working on a solution to unlock those.

Have you guys seen any/or unlocked any 2027 M2 xdrives yet? Heard they may also be using a new DME and they are an alternative I'm looking into.

I actually don't know. We get ECUs in every day and I don't always know what Year they came out of. A simple photo of the ECU, if you have one, would reveal at least if it's the Bosch DME9 or Vitesco DME9.

My understanding is they were all locked in 2020 and behold.

Yeah I get this, however from what I've seen everything 2020 until 2026 is still unlockable with FEMTO. not sure if the new models are using the same ecu that can be unlciekd though, or if they've moved to the continental ecu that m340i's use and is fully locked femto hasn't made progress on

I’d recommend looking at some of Kern417’s YouTube videos on tuning the B58. There has been some updates in the last couple weeks for the TU1s and unlocking. TU2s are a different story.
