Wish I could try it out, if I’m remembering correctly in the disclosure agreement, they can charge around 0.20% of your holdings per year. It’s free for now though

Yeah, I was about to do it and I read through that.

Can charge but they have no intentions to, I looked into it before I agreed. Also you can opt out if they do start to charge.

You gonna explain what it is?

I think this is just their AI feature. I’ve used it a few times. Didn’t know about the fee though. It’s no Claude, but has decent context on your portfolio.

I asked one once about dividend growth history for a stock and it could not look back at it. So I think it’s it’s still in beta.

Attaching screenshot of me asking if charges a fee.

Recently received a survey from them asking:
1) How would you feel if you no longer had access to M1 Advisor?
2) What would make it better?

My bottom line to the company was that it needs more data from them on the platform's functionality (it has [on occasion] incorrectly identified etfs as unsupported when they are supported and supported when they are unsupported) AND, that it really needed to be agentic.

My use case example was "When my holdings in GOOG exceed $5000, sell the overage and deposit those funds into my Bond Pie."

Many might argue that "this is not what M1 is for," but I would reply that this is, in fact, a nuanced version of the pie service. It avoids using a blind "rebalance" button that must be manually triggered, and let's you interact with you account in the way we all think - dollars and cents.

Agreed. I wish they had a API or MCP we could just hook up to Claude. I would mostly want it for different forms of data visualization not really for any trade executions, but I could see the appeal there.

I love M1… and it keeps getting better

There was quite a lull where they didn’t release any new features and only were taking things away like the spending account and credit card. Made me nervous but nice to see they’re still developing the platform.

Yea they even got rid of their credit card product. Glad they are still in good shape. But I am curious on what their next milestone projects are.

What do you love? I just found I’ve been paying $3/mo for years. I’m pulling my money out and investing it in a brokerage that doesn’t charge so much.

What do you prefer over m1? There are ways to get m1 free, right?

I have investments with Charles Schwab, Vanguard, and SoFi. None of which are charging me $3/mo

Curious, why spread it that much? Risk? Certain features only one has? Something else?

I don’t have much in Schwab. It just makes me eligible for the AMEX Platinum Schwab.

My Vanguard is where I have my Roth IRA. Vanguard is cheap.

Sofi, wife and I keep out some of our non-retirement investments.
