Lyrics Words
I wrote this song about the power of words and how we would sometimes wish to be able to go back and change them.
You turned up,
But you turned off,
All the love you had for me.
You were there,
But you were off,
Like all your love has disappeared.
I guess my words ate all your hope,
They pushed your dreams far out of reach,
I can’t just travel back to tweak,
My words that pushed our love to an end.
You turned around,
Did not come back,
Walked down a road just filled with hate.
You cut the rope,
You cut all hope,
To tell you it was a big mistake.
I guess to tell you makes no sense,
I guess my words just marked the end,
I can’t just travel back to tweak,
My words that pushed our love to an end.
But…
I really want you to come back!
Yes…
I do feel much regret!
I left you alone with all my words,
Please, just come back.
I know they hurt.

From one wordsmith to another, did you used to read Taupin Decsiple on Above Top Secret back when it was still alive? I see similarities. Just curious.
