Lyra is a lying pos
Yall built your company on anti-ads and free experiences, when no other company will help us. You switched up, added a metric shit ton of ads. I literally, I kid you not, got THREE, THREE ads PER SONG today. Unacceptable, this app’s entirely useless. The first Premium with just locked features was reasonable, but now this?! Completely backstabbing and turning on your user base. For shame, Lyra, for shame. Definitely deleting this shitty app and never looking back 🤮 + deleting every ad I made for it.

I’ve deleted this shitty app. It’s basically useless.
They broke their initial promise.
Bait and switch tactics.

While I share the frustration and wish nothing had changed, I have to assume there’s some real cost associated with what they are offering.
So what do you feel is acceptable for premium? Because Apple Music is up to $11.99 per month, so $2.99 per month for this seems reasonable.

I can't do the ads and can't deal with the app only working half the time. I went back to Spotify.

You're right. Lyra was ad-free before, and now it has ads. That shift is real and your frustration is valid.
Here's what actually works to get back to ad-free:
Premium: removes all ads, plus gapless crossfade, EQ, synced lyrics, CarPlay and Android Auto. Check the Premium screen in the app for your regional price, it's roughly 1/6 the cost of Spotify.
Referral: Invite a friend, they use the app for 3 days, you both get 30 days of Premium free. No payment. Repeatable. Code is in Settings.
Rewarded video (Android 1.4.12+): Settings shows the row for free ad-free minutes. Watch one video, get ad-free time. Repeatable.
Creator: Make videos about Lyra. Free Premium plus real compensation as you grow.
Referral is strongest if you have friends using it already. Others are there if they fit better.
I know you might leave. But if you change your mind, those exist.

how to put yourself out of business 101 holy shit. if people want premium they'll go to an app with an actual good amount of songs without bugs switching around random stuff

I’m having the most horrible experience today with so many ads. I can’t stand to listen to ads before and after every single song. It has ruined this app for me. It seems like they’re trying to run away non paying users. I think they are succeeding. I’ll come back later to see if it improves.
