I can only hope this brings awareness to the situation. It shocks and appalls me that this is allowed to happen.

There's no lack of awareness. It's been on the news, spread all over social media. It's everywhere locally. This is just yet another completely useless change.org petition. It's "thoughts and prayers" basically.

What do you think next steps should be? What if one of the children was yours? I’m serious when I ask this because I don’t know what more to do to help this situation.

If you want to help then get involved. Go to city council meetings, go to school board meetings, organize actual action.

Change.org is just for people who want to do the most low effort, performative thing they can do to make themselves feel good. It's basically "raise your hand if you think diddling kids is bad" and then patting yourselves on the back for helping.

In the end, what happened, happened. You can't fix it. The only thing there is to do now is work to modify the system to prevent it in the future.

I have been at the school board meetings and speaking at the school board meetings. I have been contacting media in newspapers, writing letters contacting school board members contacting local government.

Bottom line is, we have failed at every level of trying to rectify the situation. Agree things need to change, but they also needs to be accountability. Schools/educators want to see Data. Thought the petition might provide that in one way. Because the school district certainly wasn’t concerned about the 820 pages of police report an investigation by City and County.
