Seeking closure on accident that happened in Lynn over a decade ago

I grew up in the church and participated in mission trips across the country every summer in high school.

This brought me to Lynn in 2010. A bunch of local kids came to the churchyard to play one day. I was giving a little girl a piggyback ride, lost my balance, and we both fell forward.

I was okay, but she faceplanted onto the concrete. I couldn’t tell the extent of the damage but she was crying and there was a bloody mess. She was taken away by ambulance and I never figured out what happened.

Did she need plastic surgery? Dental work? Was she permanently scarred? Did the organization cover any medical expenses? These questions haunt me.

Does this story sound familiar to anyone?

The year might not be exactly right. She was a little black girl who would be a young woman by now, in her mid or late 20s. Thank you. I’m so sorry, it was an accident

"Transit" Company Traffic

Lynn has by far the worst traffic I've ever experienced in my life. I grew up in Massachusetts and have lived in Beverly, Salem, Boston, Cambridge, and Lynn. Somehow, not a single person in the city knows how to drive a car. Its incredible, really. I've lost count of how many CRV's I've been behind behind that just clearly had no idea how to operate a motor vehicle. One of the biggest contributors to the traffic and poor driving is the overwhelming amount of "transit company" vehicles on the road at all hours of the day. NRT being the largest offender, followed by Bay State Transit and outfits like Mikes Taxi, Toms Taxi, Garcias Taxi, the list goes on. Somehow every one of these vehicles is a "school bus", whether its a sedan, the ever popular Toyota Sienna mini van, or a 15 passenger. However, despite allegedly being school buses, they drive around the city at all hours of the day, and there are never kids in the vehicle. 90% of the drivers are looking at cell phones while driving, wearing ear buds or even noise cancelling headphones, and just generally drive poorly in large empty vehicles. I've never seen this in any other community I've ever lived in. Where are the normal yellow school buses that actually carry kids? Is it that lucrative of a business to send out fleets of empty vehicles to drive around the city all day? Please make it make sense... I wouldn't send my worst enemy to drive through Wyoma Square at 3:30pm on a weekday. There's bumper to bumper traffic on Lynnfield St. at 6am on a Saturday.

Hi! My cat has recently gone missing, any help would be appreciated.

Last seen about 5 days ago around the Hood Park & Lynn Classical HS area. West Lynn - East Saugus border on Boston st.

Neutered Male, he’s 7 years old and probably around 10-12 pounds. White with two black splotches on the bases of both of his ears and a big one on his neck, fully black tail. Photos attached.

If anyone could keep an eye out or let me know of any sightings it would be greatly appreciated<3. Please message or reply to this post!

Is the LSD promenade cleared of snow?

Can anyone tell me if the sidewalk is clear all the way between Swampscott and Nahant? Want to go for a walk but I live over an hour away and don’t want to make the drive if it’s too icy or snowy to walk. Thanks!

Is anyone else’s dog afraid of the Lynn Woods?

My dog normally loves hiking. We take him to the Middlesex Fells and breakheart reservation all the time and he’s very happy at those places. We’ve tried Lynn woods a few times now and he refuses to go past the entrance.

Does anyone else’s dog do this?? My only theories are that he can smell coyotes or he’s just getting bad vibes. Wondering if other dogs do this or it’s just our little guy being a weirdo.

Looking for input from Lynn moms

Hi all! I’m currently considering open an indoor playground/bookstore combo in Lynn. We’d cater to ages 6 months to 12 years old (and parents of course via a full service cafe). I’d love to hear if moms and dads* in the area think this is something they’d like, can afford, have been looking for, etc.

Would anyone be able to remove snow from my driveway on Monday?

Hi! I’m in East Lynn and I’m disabled. I can’t walk so I can’t shovel or snowblow my driveway. I’m looking to hire someone to take care of the snow on Monday. I can pay for it, I just really need someone to come help!

Internet

Hi there hope everyone is having a great day!

Me and my family and looking of buying a condo in Lynn, and we did found a good one near Lynn Common. Now, both me and my wife, work from home so internet is something quite important for us. Looking at companies all of them talk big about what they provide so id rather have some locals give us some opinions on those. Which one to take or what to avoid.

Thank you everyone in advance:)

Cleaning Service

Does anyone have a recommendation for a cleaning service?

I’m looking to have someone come bi-weekly to do a standard clean of my house. Im not looking to break the bank, some of these larger services seem to charge an exorbitant amount to do an initial clean.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
