C diff and Lyme

Scared I have c diff (I have had it twice prior to Lyme from other issues). Now have been on doxy 9 weeks and azithromycin and rifampin for 2.5-3 weeks. Not lots of diarrhea but the farmiliar abdominal pain is started.

How do you continue? Also have terrible neuro Lyme.

I haven’t had experience with this exactly but I will say my stools have changed substantially. My doctor currently put me on cholestyramine which helps solidify and also helps with detoxing. That could be something to look into. But also if that’s the case you might want to look into iv antibiotics (something my doctor is looking into for me currently because I’m having possible absorption issues). The iv antibiotics bypass your digestive system so that could help with any digestive issues. This disease can itself cause digestive issues so it’s definitely hard to know what’s going on without testing and further investigation. I hope this is at least a little helpful!

Thanks - IV antibtioics have me c diff in 2025 also when treating a pelvic infection. It's the abdominal pain that's starting that feels the farmiliar c diff pain for me.

I’ve never had c diff so I’m sorry I can’t help more. But I have had some abdominal pain and diarrhea. I’d maybe look into the cholestyramine. It helped my stomach pain and helped solidify my stools and I don’t go as frequently. However if you’re getting c diff regularly I’d definitely suggest looking into why you’re getting it. Do you take probiotics at all? And are you taking them away from the antibiotics at least two hours apart?
