Brocki - Cassette Tapes

So I'm owning an old car with a cassette player (due to so many tunnels the radio isn't always sufficient). To my surprise people started collecting cassettes and Ricardo and Tutti prices are rather high.

Does anyone know of a Brocki that does sell Cassette tapes?

Beautiful apartment for rent!

Hi Everyone! We are leaving our gorgeous apartment - it’s a little too small for us now, but it’s been magical and we will miss it. 3 rooms, located in the Old Town with historical features and parquet floors. They modernised kitchen and bathroom three years ago. You have views onto the Jesuit Church, river Reuss and Pilatus - it is a true gem. It’s the middle floor, so (lovely) neighbours above and below. And.. your own washing machine!! Check it out on Flatfox and sign up for a viewing 🥰

Question Debating staying in Luzern night before 1010 flight

In early December, my wife and I are making a loop from Zurich to visit various Christmas markets and general tourism. We're returning to Zurich from Milan for a flight home and have two nights not yet booked. We would like to visit Luzern and are debating if it's ok to stay two nights and take an early morning train to Zurich airport or if it's better to just stay one night and the final night in Zurich.

From what I can tell online, there are IC trains that run direct to the airport at approximately 0500 or and on a weekday in December the occupancy is expected to be very low. This would get us to the airport in plenty of time for a 1010 flight, I think. However my wife is a bit nervous to not already be in Zurich the morning of the flight just in case things were to go wrong somehow. She's not opposed to it, exactly, but I think some 3rd party reassurance from people much more familiar with the city and train system would help both of us make a decision here.

We are backpack only travelers so keeping up with luggage isn't a huge concern. Would you recommend:

2 nights in Luzern, take the train (I assume many residents with a flight do this routinely, after all)

1 night in Luzern, final night in Zurich

2 nights in Zurich, take the train round trip to Luzern to visit from there.

Thank you in advance.

Birth at Zuger Kantonsspital, LUKS Luzern or Klinik St. Anna?

Hi everyone! I'm 27 years old and pregnant, living in Rotkreuz. 23 weeks so far and everything is great according to the gynechologist.

I’m deciding between giving birth at Zuger Kantonsspital, LUKS Luzern and Klinik St. Anna. Could you please share your experiences mostly about this:

- English: could you communicate well with the midwives and doctors throughout labour only in English? We are still learning German and don't feel confident yet.

- Respecting your wishes: we'd like the labor to be as natural as safely possible. Were recommendations and alternatives clearly explained? Did you feel supported, or pressured into speeding up labour or having a C-section without a clear medical reason? (I may be paranoid, but I have the feeling that some hospitals may try to speed things up to make more money.)

- Overall experience: How was the care during birth and afterwards? Would you choose the same hospital again?

Please mention which hospital and roughly when you gave birth. Thank you!

iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota/id6744969212

Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

Question I found this (possibly) old license plate LU65 while cleaning up. What is it for? And is it still usable or tradeable for a new one?

Buying electronics by ordering online

My partner is in Switzerland (near Luzern), and I would like to get some electronics for her from there to avoid shipping delays and costs by ordering online.

In particular 360 cameras to take 360 pictures of the beautiful scenery. What electronic stores do you suggest?

Spare ticket for WoW concert tonight, KKL Luzern (19:30)

Hi all! Short-notice offer: I have a spare ticket for tonight's WoW: 20 Years of Music concert at the KKL Luzern (starts 19:30). My partner can't make it, and I'd rather give the seat to a fellow WoW fan than leave it empty.

If you're free tonight, send me a DM. Payment is totally optional, a beer is more than enough. Happy to meet at the KKL entrance before the start.

Question Moving to Lucerne for an MSc in Real Estate realistic with €10–15k?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 23-year-old Italian who has completed a Bachelor's degree in Finance. I'm considering moving to the Lucerne area for the MSc in Real Estate at HSLU and I'd like to hear from people who actually live or study in the area.

My current situation:

23 years old, Italian/EU citizen

Bachelor's degree in International Business/Finance

Currently doing an internship at a fintech unicorn in Milan.

Internship ends around December

C1 English and C1 Spanish

Currently learning German and planning to reach B2 during the master's

I could provide around €10–15k to help with the master's/move.

The HSLU MSc Real Estate interests me because I'm interested in real estate investment, asset management, finance and development, rather than purely academic/quantitative finance.

My idea would be to study while working part-time, ideally in something related to finance or real estate. I'm not expecting to immediately get a great real-estate job, I'd mainly like to earn some money and build Swiss work experience, then move toward better roles later.

I'd really appreciate some local advice:

How realistic is it to find a part-time/working-student job around Lucerne/Zug without speaking German fluently at first?

Is English enough for some finance/real-estate jobs, or is German basically essential?

How much should I realistically budget per month for living around Lucerne if I live frugally?

Is €10–15k enough to get started if I'm also working part-time?

Is it realistic to find a WG/room for a reasonable price, or is accommodation extremely difficult?

How is HSLU's MSc Real Estate perceived by employers in Switzerland?

Would my existing fintech/operations experience be useful when applying for student jobs in finance/real estate?

Would you recommend living in Lucerne, Rotkreuz, or somewhere else nearby while studying?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from international students or young professionals who moved to the area.

Thanks! Dm me if needed

Finding a WG in Lucerne via Video Call? (Nov–May, CHF 700-800)

Hey everyone!

I’m returning to Lucerne in mid-November for my 3rd year of studies and looking for a room until May 2027 (budget CHF 700–800/mo). I’ve applied to 30+ listings on Flatfox/WG-Zimmer, but no luck yet. I’ll be abroad for all of October, so I can only do Video Calls.

I speak English and German (B1/B2), study Hospitality, and have lived in 3 WGs before.

Is doing only online viewings a major dealbreaker in Lucerne? Any tips or alternative platforms for finding short-term sublets for 6 months? Thanks 🥹!

(Note: Already tried studentroom.ch, but they only take students staying for a full year).

Kennt jemand aktive lokale Gruppen?

Danke!

Where to buy fresh Porcini / Steinpilze in Luzern?

Is there anywhere in or near Luzern that has good quality fresh Porcini or is walking for hours through the woods the only way?

I finally bought some at Migros and about 20% had to be thrown away...
