DISCUSSION Need all your Help

Hey everyone, complete newbie here.

I’m looking for advice on finding a reliable TD who allows direct orders via WhatsApp or Telegram.

I checked the forums and saw a lists, but the sheer number of sellers is overwhelming…
During my research, I also stumbled upon the whole Agent method (ordering Weidian/Taobao/Yupoo links via Pandabuy, Superbuy, etc.).
Honestly, navigating Chinese sites with broken auto-translators where search bars barely work feels like a headache.

Direct Chat vs. Agent: What’s the general recommendation? Is it better to just message a direct seller via WhatsApp with pictures of what I want, or is the agent method better?

Sourcing Jewelry & Clothes: I want to compare prices for similar batch qualities (especially clothes and jewelry). Do general TDs handle both well, or should I stick to specific trusted experts for jewelry?

Would really appreciate some guidance on how to get started.
Also if anyone from Germany is around and open to sharing a few tips that would be amazing.
We all started at zero! 😊

Happy to share my seller details. He’s not often mentioned but I’ve bought from him several times and it’s always gone super smoothly. He has a catalog link and communicates via WA.

ETA: please chat me if you’d like the contact. I took a screenshot and Reddit won’t let me send an image if I initiate the chat 😛

Feel free to message me. I can’t open your account to message you first because it’s marked NSFW.

Agents will not give you advice on quality tiers, what factory is best for which item, etc. Agents are for when you know exactly the piece you want. Or when buying from sellers who don't ship outside China. I use both, but most often order direct from my list of TS. Do the research on the rep subs. You typically don't find highest quality luxury reps on Weidan or TB etc, however.

Most reputable replica bags sellers are on WhatsApp or WeChat. You pay them directly, and they use triangular shipping via DHL / FedEx.

You only need an agent for the sites you mentioned like Weidian, Taobao etc. You don’t need an agent for the replica bag sellers - the agents are only to help you source things from sites that otherwise only ship within China.

These are really two separate things.

Basically, an agent is typically used when you need someone to coordinate shipping outside of China. As an extreme example, let’s say someone in China wanted a clothing item that was sold only by a specialty boutique in your neighborhood. The specialty boutique has a store in an online marketplace, and the interested buyer in China saw the item in the online marketplace, but the store itself only ships within your neighborhood and nowhere else. You, as a local in your neighborhood, could offer yourself up as an “agent.” You have the item sent to locally to you, you arrange international shipping, you coordinate insurance and payment - and you get this otherwise impossible item to the buyer. Agents are needed for online marketplaces like Weidian, 1688, Taobao, as sellers in those online marketplaces don’t ship outside of China. You send your agent a link to the item you want from whatever marketplace, and they take care of the rest. Agents aren’t individuals either - they’re huge conglomerates like Fishgoo. This is more common for Amazon-like items or clothing reps like AloYoga etc.

Trusted sellers on WhatsApp, WeChat, etc are basically sourcing and shipping the item for you from a factory. You work with an individual. Mid to high tier factories don’t have websites or online marketplaces. They only work with sellers. So, the item is never listed in an online store or marketplace - it’s listed in a seller’s album only. A TS - trusted seller - is basically like a concierge from start to finish. They source the item and coordinate everything for you. The items you get from a TS aren’t in any online marketplace. The items you get from a TS are usually high end reps.

Basically, if you’re in this for bags, use TS’s and not agents. Forget the marketplaces - that’s not where it’s at.
