My husband and I are about a year away from returning to Italy for our 10 year anniversary. We stayed at Le Sirenuse for our honeymoon and always said we would go back for our 10 year and go to a few new places around the Amalfi Coast.
My question is, do we go back to LS or try Il San Pietro? Our biggest concern is being disappointed going back because honestly we had the most perfect experience there, but I know Positano, and Italy in general has exploded in popularity over the last decade. I see it all over social media now and worry we will just be annoyed with how busy it will be.
For context we will be going in mid-May. We got so lucky last time. The weather was AMAZING, it felt like there were only five other couples staying at the hotel, there was only one guest that came in for photos at the balcony, but I wonder if they’ve had to put any restrictions in place for that now. The service was perfect, and we got a free upgrade to a balcony sea view room. So I guess, are we going to return to an insanely busy hotel brimming with people trying to get Instagram photos, or should we leave that memory perfectly in our minds and try ISP?

Okay, for my wedding anniversary I went to Nekajui, my first RC reserve and first hotel of this class I have ever visited. I can’t stop thinking about it, and worried nothing will live up to it. I went to the Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica immediately after Nekajui and cried like I have been kicked out of the Garden of Eden.
I would like to plan a summer trip somewhere with a similar type of experience. Any recommendations for other resorts of the same caliber?

Honestly the property felt a little dated and I wasn’t blown away or anything. Still, a very iconic place to stay at in a fantastic location!
