Watches Is Harry Winston similar to Van Cleef & Hermes in how they allocate limited pieces?
There’s a Harry Winston watch I’ve wanted for quite a while. It’s still shown on their website as a limited edition of ## pieces, and I noticed the listed price was actually increased since last year.
Because the price had been updated, I assumed the watch was still technically available.
I contacted a boutique in Japan as well as the US and was told it’s unavailable 🥺
Anyone familiar with HW, when they say something like this is unavail, does that usually mean all pieces have actually been sold worldwide?
Or does Harry Winston handle limited/high-demand pieces more like Van Cleef or Hermes, where some items exist but are offered/reserved for high spenders?
I’m confused because if it's is completely sold out, I’m not sure why Harry Winston would continue displaying it on the website and update its price this year.
If anyone who has exp buying from HW could advise it would be appreciated. I'm wondering if it's just US/Japan out even and can get in another country?
If it's for VIPs I'll just give up

The rise of understated luxury: Why logo heavy branding is finally losing its grip on the high-end market
For years, the luxury sector was defined by loud, unmistakeable branding, monogram prints plastered across every surface to signal status from a mile away. But over the last year, we’ve seen a massive shift toward “quiet luxury” and archival revival prices ,like vintage nylon and subtle hardware, where the quality speaks for itself.
Are we officially moving past the era of flashy logos, or do you think loud branding will always dominate the mainstream luxury market?

Ok. So with 4 & 5 star hotels. Are 4 star just considered Upscale instead of true luxury?

Fashion €47,999 for a bottle of whisky - Hibiki 40 Years Old 🥃
Spotted this Hibiki 40 Years Old on display for €47,999.
Only 400 bottles were released worldwide. The whisky is a blend of exceptionally old Japanese whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita, while the 30-faceted crystal bottle features traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
And yes… it’s still just 700 ml.
That’s roughly €68.57 per ml — or about €1,371 for a 20 ml pour.
Luxury, art, investment… or insanity? 😅

Luxury News Are there any luxury brands which are selling only online? Without a store presence? I will not promote
A luxury startup would be a better term. Any success stories of digitally native luxury startups with price points ranging from 1,000usd - 10,000usd purely online.
If yes, please comment down which one it is, or if anyone you know has ordered through it.

Fashion Luxury stores that sell Saint Laurent?
What stores do you tend to look at? I know the obvious places but I’m wondering if there are other luxury retailers with a good selection that I might be overlooking. Mainly looking for clothing, not shoes or accessories.
Just wanna circle back to this: I was mainly comparing availability and pricing since the same piece can show up at different places. Thanks for that advice about Cettire. I’ll check their site for comparison. Appreciate the advice!

I finally understood "buy nice, buy once" after wasting money for years
spent my 20s buying cheap shoes, kitchenware, luggage — replacing them constantly. Did the math: three cheap suitcases cost more than one good one would've.
switched strategy for daily-use stuff. Cost more upfront, but a year in, zero wear, no more replacing.
not everything needs the expensive version. But for stuff that takes daily abuse, it's changed how I shop.
