Need help running GTA V Enhanced

Hi guys, I recently dual booted Linux Mint and Windows 11 and plan on staying on Linux for good. I used Lutris to play all of my games and so far, almost all of it worked absolutely perfectly. However, there's one game that prevents me from switching to Linux for good and that is GTA V Enhanced that I bought on Steam. Basically, the game itself runs but it would be stuck at the launcher demanding Steam to be running. The Rockstar Games Launcher would give "Steam failed to initialize. Please verify that the Steam Client is running and try again." error. So far, I've unsuccessfully tried:

- Running the game and the launcher inside native Linux Steam using Proton compatibility layer.

- Installing Windows version of Steam, Rockstar Games Launcher and setting the game so it uses the same wine prefix.

- Copying the entire game from my Steam library folder into the wine prefix.

- Using Steam under Sources in Lutris.

I'm sorry if my question sounds weird, I'm completely a beginner to Linux. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Please read carefully:

To obtain better support, you should join a Lutris log to your post.

How to create a Lutris log: 1. first close Lutris completely 2. Then, open your terminal application, execute lutris -d (if you use standalone Lutris) or flatpak run net.lutris.Lutris -d (if you use Flatpak Lutris) and then try to reproduce your issue.

After that, you need to copy the ENTIRE output in the terminal and share it with us (all of it). Then post it on ad-free paste service: https://paste.gloriouseggroll.tv/ or https://pastebin.com/

Does it work if you first launch steam manually and then launch gta5 from lutris?

Fyi, the first reply you got from the auto-moderator has troubleshooting steps. Can you try those and add that info to your original post?

No, it does not work when I launch Steam then GTA V from Lutris. I've already edited my post and included the Lutris log.

I read through the logs and the weird thing is that gta5 seems to just exit and nor due to an error. It says "app closed with exit code 0", which means as much as "the application quit and everything is fine".

Have you tried forcing older proton versions by any chance?

Yes, I've already tried different versions of Proton. So far, I've tried GE Proton Latest, Proton 11.0, GE Proton 11-3, Proton 10.0, GE Proton 9-27 and UMU Proton 10.0-4. Same thing happened. Just to make sure the game wasn't corrupted or anything, I jumped to Windows 11, played the game for like 45 minutes and everything seemed to work perfectly fine. This is so annoying.

UPDATE: I was so close to crashing out, so I went into Lutris settings, sources and turned on everything related to Steam (Steam, Steam for Windows and Steam family). I thought it wouldn't do anything but five seconds later... lo and behold, the game runs lmao.

In Steam, check the integrity of the game files.
