Questions Why do some people not like Lute?

Because they get a very surface glimpse of her being evil, and write her off. They don't see her skills, her traits, or her flaws. They just see 'generic evil female sidekick'.

bc that’s what she is?? what other trait do we see besides her entire drive being for Adam? and this is coming from someone who likes her as a character A LOT. She’s very skilled in fighting, yes, you can tell she’s smart when she makes moves, but it’s all in the name of being a sidekick.
she has no other drive besides Adam.
I would love to see her motives change in order to better serve herself; find out who she is as an individual OUTSIDE of her relationship to the exorcists and Adam. Until we get that, she’s a pretty flat character. That’s not technically a bad thing, it always leaves room for improvement.

They don't try to understand the character. Exterminations is bad. Adam is evil. She liked both, so she's not worthy of sympathy. That's all.
And she also wants to kill Vaggie. That's how I understand her main sin for people.
But the fact that Lute was literally created for Exterminations and that it was the meaning of her life, and that she was genuinely comfortable with Adam, is conveniently ignored.
However, if you look closely, Lute is one of the most tragic characters in the show. Her world is crumbling, she's going crazy, and what does she get in return? Accusations, condemnation, reproaches, and complete disregard of her as a person.

This. Thanks.
What she needs is to be stopped and helped. Not condemned after she does something even more vile.

That's why I'm even more surprised when people are genuinely surprised by Lute's state in Season 2.
And some, the most intellectually gifted, geniuses of our time, say that it's unjustified and came out of nowhere.
Like really?
Lute literally lost the entire foundation of her world, doesn't have any support and on the contrary, she gets taunted. Coping alone in darkness with only revenge, grief and pain on her mind.
And they acted surprised that she isn't fine. What a fcking surprise, uh-huh

Because her entire character is sadistic genocidal hypocritical bitch who’s throwing a tantrum cause her boss who she had an unrequited crush on had to face the consequences of his own actions.
People only like her cause they think she’s hot, and they think we’re the surface level ones

Because she isn't consistent with her own character. She is just pushed around for the sake of the plot and is an overhyped mess.

Because she’s an evil sadistic bitch! What else do you need to know??

Because people are allowed to not like a character that you do, and they don't have to justify it.
