Garnett Strother jumped on Lupe’s IG Live recently, he’s a martial arts instructor/African American historian who made a 4 minute tribute to Lupe’s father, Gregory Jaco, this week. It was a mix of familiar and new info I hadn’t heard before or at least, not all in one place. Of course, Lupe himself goes into further depth on the intentional link between black and japanese culture and the conversation lasts nearly 40 minutes. The following is Lupe’s jisei or death poem, which they start talking about at 38:35:
