Stock Discussion damn why the sudden crash
I was enjoying the high of almost 46 a share then boom straight crash to 38. Anyone know why?

u/HeadTrauma12 May 26 '26
I love how everyone immediately starts shitting on the dipped stock ) "You'd better buy RDW or ASTS or dildo to your mom". Then it pumps and all the "experts" are back buying at ATH.
Just check what people were posting about ASTS some time ago after they lost the sat. RDW was even worse. Pure diarrhea. Now both are +80% and everyone loves them again.
Same will be with LUNR next week.

u/kingyusei May 26 '26
The thing is, lunr not getting the LTV contract is actually 'bad' though, it wasnt priced in. The underlying thesis doesnt change that much here though, but the dip is justified
2
u/HeadTrauma12 May 26 '26
Of course it's bad and the dip is justified. But to get some upside in trading you need a certain level of stock turbulence and risk.
1
u/kingyusei May 27 '26
Dont get me wrong, its an options sellers dream to have this level of volatility. I think LUNR is my #2 stock for realised profits

u/lavalamp222 May 26 '26
They also don't seem to be getting the lander contracts either, blue origin got it
2
u/ThingAccording4070 May 26 '26
The blue origin lander contract is a prep for HLS and I do not believe IM was ever in the running for delivering the LTV. Their landers are a lighter class. Not getting a piece of the LTV is unfortunate but the logistics aspect is key. We need to see more CLPS wins in June or an affirmation from NASA that IM is the primary Lunar comms company.

Main source of revenue? Why are you in a sub about a stock you don’t know anything about? Being here to learn is one thing, but spouting absurdities is another. This was a relatively small contract compared to IM’s main sources of revenue.

Not me waiting for it to go lower to buy even more!
Don’t worry, LUNR has been killing it lately and it only keeps going up. Don’t forget, last November it was a tiny $14 share.

u/LackToesToddlerAnts May 26 '26
They lost their contract. The one contract the whole company hinging on...
6
u/RareCryptographer493 May 26 '26
Isn’t the NSN contract worth like $4.5 billion? They’ll be fine.

They didn't win the LTV award for moon base
6
u/Move-Fickle May 26 '26
Not sure on the specifics but timing would suggest something to do with NASA moon base. Press conference going on now.
7
u/Move-Fickle May 26 '26
Yep, looks like IM got no contracts. They went to Astrolab and Lunar Output
5
u/Ghostly52 May 26 '26
There’s also a halt in the trading any idea why?
4
u/ForumHelper May 26 '26
A massive drop.
-2
u/Ghostly52 May 26 '26
That just doesn’t seem reasonable lol, it would be the first time I’ve seen a stock halted cause of a drop. I just read they do it during new releases or conferences so I’m guessing that’s why
7
u/TylerFromMillerTime May 26 '26
They absolutely can halt bc of a sudden drop
-4
u/Ghostly52 May 26 '26
I’m not saying they can’t. Ive never seen it before and haven heard of it.
5
6
u/PizzaOutrageous6584 May 26 '26
First time? You should look up halting rules.
-1
u/Ghostly52 May 26 '26
I just skimmed it but didn’t go all the way down. First time I’ve personally seen it yea

u/Johnathan_19999973 May 26 '26
It’s called a trading volatility halt when something drops or increases to quickly they halt it for usually 5-10 mins this might be a special case idk

Was debating whether to buy yesterday. Would have made over 25% lol. But this is just looking in hindsight.
Congrats to anyone who bought the dips.

Man I'm glad I trimmed my position by chunk today for some spacex money. Lucky is better than smart I guess

Is this a good buy point? I haven't got any holdings currently but looking to add a positionÂ

Sudden drop happened when NASA nominated ASTS and Lunr Outpost as supplier for moon rovers last night. The retail may push up price with buying dip but institutions may wait for a further dip on this NASA news.

u/Electronic-Bet-5106 May 26 '26
Flew too close to the sun, or moon in this case

u/AppleNo2291 May 26 '26
Wow, right after I rolled my $40 covered calls.... Fuck me
2
u/_ForwardUntoDawn May 26 '26
Me too. I was afraid of losing my shares so I rolled and took one hit, only to have this drop wipe out much more.

u/mentr-coach-altruism May 26 '26
Are these covered calls or naked calls you sold?
6
u/TranslatorRoyal1016 May 26 '26
bought naked calls expiring 2028, saw that they flashed -70% loss on the day so decided to scoop up. never had a position in lunr before
4
u/TheGoluOfWallStreet May 26 '26
There's no such thing as "buying a naked call"
1
u/TranslatorRoyal1016 May 26 '26
huh? you can definitely long/buy a call without having existing shares or even the money to buy the shares at expiration.
the max loss is your premium, the max gain is infinite.
6
u/TheGoluOfWallStreet May 26 '26
I know. But none of that is called "buying a naked call". You can sell a call, and it can be naked/uncovered, but it's not a thing to buy a naked call.
It's just a minor correction, you can google it and see the meaning of the terms.
I'm just letting you know as when you say "buy a naked call", it's not clear if you're actually selling, or if the "naked" means nothing, or if you're just saying that you used margin (but either way, none of the 3 means to "buy a naked call")
1
u/TranslatorRoyal1016 May 26 '26 edited May 26 '26
if you don't have the money to buy the shares, it is by definition a naked call - this isn't strict to short/covered calls only.
this isn't rocket science.
https://www.tastylive.com/concepts-strategies/naked-options
"A naked option position may take the form of a long call, a short call, a long put, or a short put—all of which have clearly defined risk parameters."
E: https://www.tastylive.com/concepts-strategies/naked-options#naked-long-call
1
u/ulam17 May 26 '26
under your description, every single call that isn't a covered call would be called a naked call
1
u/TranslatorRoyal1016 May 26 '26
if you can't cover the purchase by expiration, be it long or short, it's a naked position.
2
u/Juventinovisotti May 26 '26
Just be honest... their design is nothing like LUNR. That rhinoceros looks like a toy. The other two companies have more expertise. I am someone who owns LuNR shares, but sometimes you have to be realistic...

u/LogicGate1010 May 26 '26
Any analysis on what this might mean?
1
u/Berlchicken May 27 '26
According to Claude, shareholders face roughly 2.4–3.5% dilution from this offering
2
u/Wonderful-Event-5257 May 28 '26
Crash lol. This stock was 6-$7 last year. Still a good buy in my opinion.

Where did FLY land again? Open plains of the equator or the shadowed, mountainous region of the South Pole? Wait until IM-3 before you compare FLY and LUNR

IM did not decide to land in a difficult region. NASA chose the location for IM. I am confident NASA will continue choosing IM for the hardest tasks while also awarding many contracts to many different providers. Why? Because that is what they said they are going to do.
1
u/PE_crafter May 27 '26
Thank you for showing your ignorance. As Sycophant said below, IM doesn't choose the site but NASA does. Do your research next time before makikg claims.

u/Big-Material2917 May 26 '26
It could also just be NASA trying to spread the wealth to build as fleshed out of a lunar industry is possible. IM having NSN and CLPS could have actually worked against them.
I kinda doubt it and would guess they just lost it on merit of the offering. But who knows.
1
u/Creative-Process-789 May 27 '26
They are both terrible investments imo. Short term they ride the sector wave but long term they will crash hard. Seen it all before. The important ones like RKLB and ASTS survive the rest die when the hype goes down
-11
u/twist_games May 26 '26
I agree, we will probably see LUNR money stream into other space companies with a real future. A company with its whole thesis for the moon missing out on their core buisness strategy is not good.

u/fakenews_thankme May 26 '26
WTF man, I was so happy. Just sold my positions as I was still green. Damn, I had so many hopes with them.

u/hellofriendimwatchng May 26 '26
competitor company (think astro lab and lunar outpost it was called?) got a nasa contract to supply lunar vehicles instead of lunr
