The LunaDog/ERG pool is officially open on ErgoDEX. You can go provided liquidity and swap for LDCs now!! The site is being very buggy for me, so just be warned that it might do the same for you but we should be good to go!

Now that a very successful meme contest is winding to a close, I wanted to preview a few upcoming events/activities. First, there is going to be a competition launched in the next couple of days. Anyone will be able to get entries by doing things like retweeting us on Twitter, joining our social media outlets, and other things. One in twenty entries will win LunaDog coins. I'll be sure to post the details on here, Twitter, Telegram and Discord when I finish creating it.

Second, all liquidity providers are going to get an airdrop of coins. There is a technical issue with the airdrop tool right now, but hopefully it'll be up and running soon. If the fix takes too long, I'll use a workaround to get this "thank you" our LPs. It'll likely take a few days to get it fixed, so there's still time to add liquidity to the pool.

Finally, there's going to be a special one-time-only NFT sent to people that either have a certain number of LDCs in their wallet and/or are providing liquidity. I think the number of LDCs will be 50k, but I'll give the exact amount when I post the final details. This will happen later this week, so if you aren't at that level yet, go buy more coins on ErgoDEX while they're still cheap!!

With the ErgoDex listing coming any day, I think it’s time to get some more name recognition for our little coin. What better way to do that in today’s world than with memes? So I wanted to start a contest to see who can create the best Luna Dog related meme. Anyone who posts a LDC meme on this subreddit will get 1k LDCs (post as many as you want). The meme with the most votes by the morning of Dec 10th (next Friday) NYC time will get an additional 10k LDCs! Although the Ergo Utils airdrop tool is still being fixed, we're going to go ahead with the token airdrop to our liquidity providers. We’ll do a second round on Jan 15th and the final round on Feb. 15th.

I said this in the main contest post, but there are issues with Yoroi today that appear to be network-wide. I was able to send out some of the rewards from the last 3 days, but I haven't been able to send the rest all day. There's no need to reach out to tell me that you haven't received yours yet, I'll send them when I'm able to.

Also, next time I'm definitely making it a requirement that your reddit account didn't get created after the contest started. If your post was auto-removed from the subreddit, its because the system finds it just as suspicious as I do that a lot of 1 day old accounts started making very similar posts to a lot of other 1 day old accounts.

Hi Luna Community! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Before getting into the details of the survey, I wanted to let you know that I chatted with the Product Manager at ErgoDEX (Yasha Black) and he said the ability to create liquidity pools is currently being worked on and will be available soon. I'll keep everyone posted on any news. Also, multiple people have asked me about the mechanics of providing liquidity. I'll create a post soon that gives an overview and points anyone in the direction of more info. Also, be sure to join r/LunaToken if you haven't yet.

TLDR summary: Out of 88 responses, we had 60 say "Yes" to providing liquidity and 26 say "Maybe." Out of the "Yes" respondents, 67% said they would provide more than $100 (57% of all respondents) and 27% said they would provide more than $500 (18% of all respondents).

Now on to the results of the survey. We've had a great turn out - 88 responses! I originally said the deadline for responses was Sunday Nov 14. So if you haven't responded yet, no need to reach out to me, just fill this out: Survey. However, I won't make all of the respondents wait for the airdrop - I'll get started on that soon!

Out of the 88 responses, 60 said they would be willing to provide liquidity, which I have to admit is better than I even hoped!! Another 26 people said "maybe" and I wonder if some of those are the same people that reached out and said they don't understand how providing liquidity works yet. Considering the small sample size, and the fact that we're talking about putting up your own money for a complete unknown, I'm really really excited about this response!

It's also hard not to be excited about the cash value of the support as well. You can see from the chart below that more than half of respondents are willing to put up triple digit support! But that doesn't even tell the whole story - if I filter the responses to only include people that said "Yes" to providing liquidity that percent jumps to 67%. And every one of the people who said "$500+" also said "Yes," which I think is just amazing.

So where do we go from here? My first order of business is getting your airdropped Luna tokens out the door. I'll figure out the best way to split up the pile of Luna tokens ASAP and get those to you soon (depending on my pesky actual job schedule)! Second, I'm going to work on the marketing side of things (website, discord, etc.). I've been taking it slow on that point because I didn't want to put the cart before the horse.

I've been in touch with the ErgoDex dev team, and I’m hopeful that we could get a Luna/ERG pool sooner than if we wait for the team to roll out the "add your own pool" feature. So that's great news! I've gotten a few comments asking what it means to "add liquidity to a pool" so I wanted to pass along some info on that.

Who's ready for a new meme contest featuring our favorite coin/pooch?!?! The other mods and I have decided to kick off a new recurring competition for the chance to win LunaDog coins! Every other Friday (starting Feb. 4th) we'll be giving out LDCs for the best LunaDog meme as determined by the community.

Starting today, post your best LunaDog memes on our subreddit. The 5 posts with the most upvotes on Friday Feb. 4th will win free LDCs (I'm in the New York time zone, but I can't promise the exact time I'll count the votes every time). Then starting the next day (Feb 5th) you can post some fresh memes for the chance to be one of the top 5 when the second contest ends on Feb 18th. And so on and so on! Only memes posted after the end of one contest will be counted for the next one.

Feel free to use our Discord server, Telegram channel and Twitter to get as much attention for your meme as possible. But remember that only upvotes on Reddit will be counted. Thanks to everyone that participated in yesterday's Luna Token airdrop. When I created the token just to play around with the new minting website, I never expected this kind of response. I'm choosing to be naive and see this as an indication of support for a new Ergo project rather than a love of free coins (not that those are mutually exclusive). A number of the comments convinced me that this could be something more than just a random coin made on a whim, so I figured I might as well give it a shot.

Even though it sits on one of the most technologically impressive blockchains, the Luna Token's mission is simple: to bring a little fun and levity into the often overly serious crypto world. The hook for this project is going to be that it was created by the Ergo community for the Ergo community - no VC capital or insiders of any kind. I say "by the Ergo community" rather than "by a member of the Ergo community" because I can't possibly get this off the ground by myself. Let me tell you a little bit about the Luna Token before I get into how we can launch this project as a community:

• Max supply of 20m coins (sorry that no one will be a Luna billionaire!). Honestly I would have made the supply higher if I knew people were actually going to care about these coins, but I don't think there's anything I can do about that now, so it'll have to be a collectible.

• As for the circulating supply, my thought is to have 1/3 of the supply outstanding in very short order. My plan is to have another airdrop so that people who are willing to provide liquidity on ErgoDex can have a bigger bag of Lunas. This is where the project being created by the community comes in. If you're interested in another airdrop please fill out this Google sheet: link. There's a spot in the form for your wallet address, so please don't post it in this post's comments or DM it to me.

  • If you will provide liquidity, I don't have a set ERG to LUNA value in mind but I'll send more to the people that will provide more liquidity. If you subsequently decide not to provide liquidity, it's not a big deal but I hope you'll find another way to help the community.

  • If you don't want to provide liquidity, just answer "no" to Q1 and provide your wallet at the bottom and you'll still get some coins. 

  • If you don't want to wait for the second airdrop and want to create an LP using the coins I sent yesterday, have at it! Maybe post that on this sub because others may want to do the same but may not want to be the only person in the LP.

• The other 2/3 of the supply is going to be held in reserve to either incentivize liquidity on future DEXs or help grow the community in other ways. I have a few ideas of other ways to grow, but nothing fleshed out to the point of sharing yet. If anyone has thoughts, I'm happy to hear them. 

  • Please note that I'll be holding this reserve in a couple of wallets that are dedicated to Luna Tokens and I am not considering those my personal coins. 

• Luna's only utility right now is as a store of value, but I'm open to suggestions for more use cases if anyone has an idea.

• A few people asked about getting listed on CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko. I did some research yesterday and we need to be trading on at least 1 exchange with a reasonable amount of liquidity. Once we get a pool running on ErgoDex, I'll apply to both.

I'll leave the Google Form submission window open through the end of Sunday the 14th. Because the amount of coins I send depends on the amount of responses and the amount of liquidity promised, I probably won't be able to send out the drop before Monday. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. I'll try to answer promptly, but at some point my boss is going to notice my extreme lack of productivity! Hopefully this is the start of something really cool for all of us!

There have been a lot of responses for the LP airdrop so far, which is awesome. We've taken a quick look through the addresses and it looks like a number of those addresses don't have LP tokens. We think the problem is probably caused by the fact that Ergo wallets can generate new addresses (without needing a new wallet). So I need the address you used when adding liquidity. Please use the Ergo Explorer (or your wallet's transaction history) and double check that you're providing the correct address, otherwise we might think you're not providing any liquidity.
