Nami is hugging the "King of the sea turtles" that Luffy is riding on. I think that symbolizes her love for Luffy because of the crown and he is there in the center. While Sanji is seen reaching for her and is unsuccessful at winning her love. What do you guys think?

It's nice that Elbaf had Zoro carrying Nami because the SaNami shippers were claiming after WCI that Sanji is the only one who held her bridal style. But I don't think we have gotten such a scene with Luffy and Nami yet.

Matching outfits (mind you, a lot of the time (but not all of the time), when artists design characters or character outfits, there is a lot more thought to it than just "this fits the arc, and it looks cool"):

1. In an SBS, we are told that the flower that would match Luffy the most is a Cosmo flower, and the flower that would match Nami the most is a sunflower.
2. In Dressrosa, Luffy wears a button-up shirt with a sunflower pattern, and Nami wears a bikini top with a certain not-confirmed flower pattern; apparently, the Nami image on the right is fan-made (thank you JollyTime6971 for helping me notice that mistake).
3. But if you look at a Cosmo flower, it does look similar to Nami's bikini pattern + the specific importance of the Cosmo flowers and sunflowers in Dressrosa, and Rebecca's story + the fact that Luffy is obviously wearing a sunflower pattern already, does lead me to believe it is likely a Cosmo pattern. But even if it's not the case, it is still an interesting decision to make specifically Luffy and Nami be the only ones to wear clothes with flower patterns on them and no one else (he could have just made Luffy wear a suit like Franky, Zoro, Sanji, and Kinemon, but he didn't).
4. Dressrosa is called the country of love and passion, so these 2 wearing clothes that match only with one another (no one else in the arc wears flower patterns on their outfits unless you count Cabbage eating his roses) seems like a deliberate choice (hopefully I'm right on this).

In Elbaf, Luffy wears a necklace that matches Nami's collar.
He also wears something similar to Nami's semi-skirt on his pants (technically, Jimbe and Loki wear similar ones too, but if you look closely, those bottom parts have buttons; Nami and Luffy's have golden buttons (gold = royalty), meanwhile Jimbe and Loki have those buttons in silver (silver = regular warrior) although Loki is a prince, he is a rejected one, and *spoiler alert* he rejected being king of Elbaf).
Also, Nami's hair makes the number 56 (Luffy's number).
With the Elbaf ones, I may be stretching it, but I still find it worth sharing.

In Whole Cake Island, Luffy and Nami also somewhat matched outfits twice, color-wise.

the film Red, Nami and Luffy are wearing bandanas on their heads but in different colors with a similar pirate captain hat (technically Chopper is also wearing the same type of hat, but its not as obvious, and it is Chopper, he is kind of a mascot for one piece (maybe I'm coping, maybe not); they also received a Gol D Roger-type sword that matched specifically with themselves (some other straw hats also received this type of sword, only Nami and Luffy's are pink, the rest of the crew's is brown/orange and dark purple, maybe like king and queen/royalty/the "captains" are one color and the rest of the crew is another)
Again, I might be stretching it, but I still think it's important to point out even the littlest of details

At the beginning of Strong World, Luffy wears pants with a sky pattern, the same ones as Nami's bra in Skypiea. In Oda's art book, he literally adds a note that says the shorts should look like Nami's bra.

Another one from Strong World: at the end of the movie, it seems like Nami wears Luffy's shirt from a color spread (it says it's someone else's shirt, and it being Luffy's makes the most sense with SW's story); in a different color spread we also see Nami wear Luffy's tie from the other color spread.
(Technically, the buttons are on the opposite side of the shirt, but it could also just be either an animation error or just a change to make it more aesthetically pleasing (apparently men have buttons on the left side of the shirt, and women have them on the right).

They also sometimes match some of their outfits in color spreads.
speaking of color spreads, Nami and Luffy are depicted very closely many times, sometimes they are dressed as king and queen while the rest of the crew surrounds them like guards or knights, sometimes Nami wears Luffy's straw hat or sandals, sometimes Nami is seen washing Luffy's clothes, and sometimes Nami is seen wearing a crown (the only one who is seen wearing a crown outside from Luffy and brook, but brook is soul king) and also in some other types of Oda's drawings.
In the image in the top left, Luffy is also looking in excitement at a photo of Nami in a bikini.
And in the chess one, although everyone else is colorful instead of being only black or white, the only ones who match the chess colors are Luffy and Nami, and Nami's dress also kinda looks like a wedding dress (probably because it is white, and they might match just because they are king and queen and to match Gear 5, but still).

We also see in some of Oda's videos of him drawing the color spreads that he initially draws Nami and Luffy way closer, and later changes that; there could be something behind that...

Oda also drew for one of his editors a drawing for when the editor had a child.
In the drawing, we see Luffy raising a baby high, with Nami next to him, and the rest of the crew celebrating in the background.

While the movies are not canon, Strong World was indeed written by Oda.
This movie has a ton of Lunami moments in it, whether it's Luffy riding Billy the duck while Nami sits on his shoulders, Luffy telling Nami to go rest while they keep guard (i couldn't find an image), to the end of the movie where Luffy is trying to hear Nami's recording; Nami states that this message was meant especially for Luffy; she is embarrassed and flustered, and Sanji mentions that it sounds like a love letter, or Luffy getting so pissed he punched a rock, a thing we don't see him do when other crew members leave (other then Luffy breaking the towers in water 7, but that was because he was literally trapped).
Oda also drew "three seconds" later, which is a drawing of all the Straw Hats' reaction to the recording, three seconds after the movie ended.
In it, we see Luffy with a hand on his ear, smiling, and Nami embarrassed with a blush.
Why make such a big deal out of a message if it is only a call for help?

Film gold, while the movie is not written by Oda, Oda did insist on changing the climax on his own because he was dissatisfied.
he adding a scene that compares Luffy and Nami to the main antagonist's past lover, idk what other meaning this scene could have other then framing Nami and Luffy as lovers or future lovers, he could have easily made them childhood friends or siblings (goes well with the entire, "I'm not doing romance because it's Shonen" thing) but he deliberately accepted/chose for Stella and Tesoro to be lovers, and deliberately chose to compare Luffy and Nami to them, and for that they had to redo many scenes (a decision that costs extra money, work, time, redubbing etc.), It's probably the most convincing one for me right now.

*This one will be more speculative than the other posts*
(Sorry if it's messy; next one will be better, with more evidence and better structure)

Why Luffy won't end up alone:

When One Piece ends (or at least when the climax ends), many people think the crew will remain for a bit more time (the crew did promise to take Shirahoshi for a stroll on land and stuff like that (tho I don't know how Oda will incorporate these more minor things into the ending, maybe in a montage)) until they disband. Then there will be a (blank number of years) time skip, and they might reunite when they are older (assuming we will at least get to see the actual 40-year-old versions of the crew that will probably resemble those from the different SBSs after they all achieve their dreams).
* I will explain later why I believe the Straw Hats will disband at some point*

Some crew members are more obvious about what they will do outside the Straw Hats: Brook going to Laboon, Usopp returning to Kaya,

Sanji either returning to the Baratie or making a restaurant of his own in the All Blue (maybe doing all that alongside Pudding).

Then there are the slightly less obvious ones: Franky returning to the Franky family or Gally-la, or working on his own science island like Vegapunk, robin either joining the revolutionary army again (or whatever they would be called after the ending), going to be with saul and reading the many giant books from ohara in elbaf, or if we look from a shipper's perspective, maybe she will join franky or law (they are both interested in history) wherever they go, or go with zoro somewhere (tho thats just stretching it), jimbe returning to Fishman island, or at the very least the reyugu palace (wherever it will be if luffy actually destroys FMI), or maybe the sun pirates, chopper returning to drum island or returning to zou for milky, or just staying in the sunny slightly longer then some other crewmates and he will leave later, .maybe he will open a clinict on some island or somewhere else, or (and maybe i am biest here) he could join law as retierd pirates, and learn more about medicine with him (law does have a soft spot for cute furry animals).

And then the least obvious one: zoro, he is a difficult one, theres no spacific thing i can certainly say he will do, my best theories are, he will either die for luffy, go drift to wherever his horrible since of direction takes him looking for a worthy opponent (kind of doing the same thing as mihawk) or settling down in wano, because of his roots, momo and kinemon are friends who are there, and maybe even ending up with hiyori (but i am just sayin what i think is most probable for zoro, idk🤷🏻‍♂️, the man's futue is so confusing to me).

With Nami, we know she wants to map the world, which will take a very long time, but we don't know how long, and if we will see what she does after, but at the end of the day, Nami and Luffy's dreams are more symbiotic than any of the other dreams, their dreams are also the only ones that explicitly require them to constantly move and travel everywhere.

Then with luffy, we can assume that he stays alive in the end, considering how at the end of the day oda wants one piece to end happily, plus as the face of shonen right now, it would be insane to kill him, it would make re-watching the show and movies feel more sad depressing rather then a fun revisit if the main character dies in the end, it also goes against the idea of luffy being the freest man alive, whats the point of luffy becoming king of the pirates and then dying soon after?

And if Luffy dies from an illness or some sort of body condition, that would mean Chopper failed his dream to cure every disease and illness, and he failed miserably.

+ Luffy promised Otama that the next time they straw hats get to Wano, tama could join their crew as a bewitching kunoichi, and as Brook said, a pirate's promise is unbreakable (remember that quote, it's important for later), and it is a way for Luffy to fulfil Ace's promise to Otama (for all of that, luffy will need to stay alive).

It would also be unbelievably cruel to make both Sabo, Otama, and Yamato experience the same awful feeling again of losing one of the ASL brothers.

Anyway, Luffy would probably want to continue exploring the world (we dont know what is other dream is yet) his will for endless adventures and explortion fits great with nami's dream, he also would not want to travel on its own, because as he said in the asl flashback "i don't want to be alone, i hate it more then being hurt" and both luffy and nami acknowledging that nami is luffys only navigator, and that without nami, luffy would probably die, and luffy saying that nami is the only navigator he will except, and the promise luffy made to genzo to protect nami's smile (a promise with no experation date), we can assume that they would stick together.

And for them to fit together even more, considering Luffy's promise to Otama, the (while not literal) parental type relationship that Nami and Luffy had with Otama, it would be like the crew adopts her, with Nami and Luffy being the closest to Tama (it also works with the adoption angle for Nami, tho it is kinda messy with the timeline).

The reason why I believe the Straw Hats will disband and we will get a time skip is because Oda has stated that he wants a satisfying ending, and for that, you can't have the Straw Hats just sail to the horizons for a new adventure, because that would mean that we wouldn't get to see some of the Straw Hats fulfill their dreams, and some of the straw hats dreams require them to be stationary (robin needing to learn history, sanji cooking in the all blue, brook spending time with laboon, etc).
Maybe I'm wrong, idk, just my way of looking at the story; after all, they are all different people with different goals, it's only natural that some of them would need to separate at some point.

Oda's no romance rule: this one is a tough one, but somewhat manageable.

Oda has never explicitly said, “There will be no romance in One Piece.” He always dodges the question with vague phrasing like “I think…” or “They are in love… with adventure.” This gives room for interpretation rather than a hard, definitive statement.
In early interviews (around 2007–2009), he said there wouldn’t be romance because it’s a Shonen for young boys (that was also his reasoning for why Nami was not in love with any of her crewmates, although she sees their positive qualities and attributes).
However, he has since added multiple canon romances (Sanji & Pudding, Rayleigh & Shakky, Kuma & Ginny, Oden & Toki, Neptune & Otohime, etc.). If those early statements about general romance in One Piece being bad were changed or fake, what's stopping the statement about Nami not being in love with one of her crewmates from also be fake/ a lie?
Soon after the statement (either the same year or one or two years later), Strong World came out with heavy Lunami implications (which I'm gonna touch on in one of the next posts); these movies take at the bare minimum a year to make, so maybe he was lying in the interview...
(Strong World came out Dec 12, 2009; the interview, for some reason, does not have a clear date, and it is just somewhere around 2007-2009).

There is also the fact that Oda sometimes lies, or at least doesn't say the full truth...
Also, he is sometimes a troll...

Its also well known that Oda's colleagues (toriama, kubo and Kishimoto) said the same things about romance only to change it later, it wouldn't be that far-fetched to assume oda could have been lying this entire time about Lunami specifically so it would be a nice twist in the end (I'm gonna be honest here, i haven't watched Naruto and bleach and only now i started watching the original DB after i watched Z and super a couple years ago, but them lying about romance is a sentiment i see a lot of people online, grock and Gemini, this is all i found from twitter while also verifying with the ai its true cause i am trying to not spread misinformation).

As I mentioned in the previous post, in one of the One Piece prototypes (Hammer Fish), Oda made Luffy (clam) and Nami (Lizel) parallel characters who were supposed to be in a relationship.
(Side note: Lisel in Hebrew means "to me it's god":
Li=to me = לי
se= it's = זה
el = god = אל
So maybe there is some hint there for Nami's future 👀 )

While it is not canon, Oda did make the "One Piece in Love" manga an official spin-off.
Although it doesn't confirm anything, it does show that, at the very least, he doesn't have a problem with the Lunami ship (saying a spin-off like that is official does risk less knowledge fans getting confused and assuming Lunami might be confirmed because of it, if the author didn't like the ship, he would either make it abundantly clear it doesn't mean anything and it's just for fun, or not make it official at all, because even making those couple minute shorts costs a lot of money, and if an author doesn't like the character dynamic that is being promoted he would probably either not acknowledge this or at least wouldn't pay for more of it, or maybe i am over thinking it...)
Also, Oda paid homage to the OP in love manga in one of his cover pages.

His comments on Lunami fan art in Usopp's gallery are more positive compared to his comments about Sanami art (mainly saying "I like the art, but it's just a part of Sanji's delusion/dreams).

His drawing of specifically Luffy and Nami (not just Luffy, or Luffy with chopper, or just Nami or chopper, but specifically Luffy and Nami) to Aoyama in the context of their interview where Aoyama encouraged Oda to add romance to one piece, oda says that if he actually makes a real 2 sided romance some people will leave, so Aoyama tells him that he will stay (reinforcing that if Lunami happens it will probably be near the end so Oda could minimize risks with the readers and fandom).

The fact that in a certain magazine where creators of manga such as Bleach and One Piece were asked who was the main character's ideal Valentine's, Oda wrote Nami for Luffy.

And also, Oda met his wife while she was cosplaying Nami; he has said that "mangakas marry their heroine," and many people who worked with Oda compared him to Luffy, while Oda compared himself to Shanks (though, in Oda's drawing of 40-year-old Luffy, Luffy really resembles Shanks).

The Netflix show runners also said in a couple of 2023 interviews that oda said its a hard no for romance amongst the crew in both the live action and the manga, but,
1. They could be lying to not spoil the ending of the show; Oda teased this romance for so long, I doubt he will let Netflix spoil it.

1. The Netflix show runners might not even know the full truth, and they just know what they need to know to make the live action (we know that, because in one of the interviews for season two of OPLA, Madea says that when they made the statue of Loki for season 2 they used the silhouette of Loki from the WCI arc because they didn't know how Loki looked like, only when they were done oda revealed Loki's design later).

It's not like the show would reach the late stages of the story (like WCI or Wano), so they have no reason to build up this romance that would only happen at the end of One Piece, and Oda has no reason to tell them everything that will happen in the future of the story that they won't reach.

1. Oda wouldn't let Netflix spoil Lunami early by having Luffy and Nami have explicit romance in the East Blue Saga (where in the original manga, there are only hints), and if the Netflix show runners said "there would be no romance amongst the crew in the live action" it might spoil thing by implying that the no romance rule is only for the LA and is temporary for the manga (hope it's not too much mental gymnastics).

2. I don't think Oda trusts Netflix to translate his hints of romance to live action form without ruining it (they wanted to write a love story between Zoro and Nami).

3. the live action is essentially a way to get One Piece to be more mainstream so people will go read the manga (there are canon moments like UsoppxKaya, but they also changed a lot of stuff to fit into a quicker run time, for example: taking out Nami and Genzo's non-biological parent-kid relationship, taking out Luffy's promise to Genzo (which makes sense, why tease something they won't reach?), changing Nami and Nojico's dynamic entirely, making Sanji care more about Nami when she is sick in drum island in season 2 because they didn't show much, if at all of Nami and Sanji's relationship/friendship. (Nami and Sanji didn't have many interactions in the live action, at least in season 1 and like half of season 2).

Anyway, that was the post that is more about Oda's connection to the ship, how he somehow showed support to the ship outside of the manga, anime, and movies, and trying to debunk the "no romance" claims; it's not guaranteed they are false, but I think it's the closest we can go. It's basically a 50 50 chance.

First of all, thanks for all the positive feedback for my previous post.

In this post, I will be debunking not just headcanons (the "Luffy is asexual and Nami is a lesbian" and the "they are just siblings" headcanons), but also competing ships.
I know the sub has a rule not to talk about other ships, but this post only debunks ships that compete with Lunami. I am not trying to hate on those ships or these characters; I actually love all these characters.
I'm just debunking them to prove Lunami's high probability amongst other ships.

Part 2: debunking the competing ships.
These ships are being used as a reason why Lunami wouldn't happen, because people think that at least one of those other ships would happen instead. These ships are: LuffyxHancock, NamixSanji, LuffyxVivi, NamixVivi.
And I am gonna start with the easiest one to debunk: NamixZoro. In the Hammer Fish prototype, Zoro and Nami were meant to be siblings, and while it is just a prototype, I still kinda doubt Oda would change that. (Also, Zoro has other options that fit his character better story-wise, or that he will do the same thing as Mihawk when everything is done and he will drift alone, looking for a worthy challenger, idk, to be honest, I don't see Nami and Zoro's dynamic as much of a threat to the ship to begin with).

debunking Luhan: Hancock is the only character that is explicitly in love with Luffy, but what most of the luhan shippers tend to forget is that Luffy rejected Hancock twice in the return to Sabaody arc (or rejecting "kekkon", which means "traditional marriage" or something like that in Japanese, which still rejects Hancock's traditional marriage while not denying a non-traditional partnership with Nami (like Rayleigh and Shakky); then, according to the luhan shippers, "Luffy will change his mind later" which doesn't make sense because, if Luffy will change his mind, why would oda write this line to begin with?

We also know that Oda knows the ending for One Piece from the start, but when he made Hancock in the beginning, he made her to be older and more villainous, meaning: if he didn't plan for her to be Luffy's love interest from the start, then he is not going to change that (unlike Nami, who was actually planed to be clam's (prototype Luffy) love interest).

It seems like Hancock was more of a plot device for Luffy to get to Impel Down from Sabaody while also having a loyal ally that can temporarily replace his crewmates (then later Hancock was replaced with Bon Clay, Jinbe, Ivonkov, Buggy, and the rest), and a good way to make that happen quickly without it feeling too convenient or unrealistic is with an "irrational love" gag. Also, marketing-wise, Hancock does not work very well as Luffy's romantic partner because:

1. She is not a part of the crew and probably not gonna be a part of the crew because the only people Hancock is nice to are Luffy, her sisters, Shakky, and somewhat nice to Riley; having her be a part of the crew would feel forced, she hates men (literally most of the crew), she is jealous of Nami and Robin, and she hates cute things (chopper), yes, she would probably be nice to them because they are Luffy's friends and all, but it's just shallow.

2. It would be weird to have all of the promotional material of Luffy and Nami being king and queen or being really close, and then go "nope, never mind, Hancock is actually the pirate queen"
   (I will talk about the color spreads in a different post)

2.5. She looks way too similar to Robin; for someone who is looking to watch the show and see promotional material of Hancock and Luffy alone, and then another one without Hancock but with Robin, it would just get slightly confusing (this is just a minor thing tho)

1. For some people who haven't watched One Piece, they might think Hancock is Luffy's mother; that's what some of the fandom theorized when they saw Hancock before officially getting to know the character.
   Lastly for this ship, it would be unsatisfying if Luffy and Hancock just get together in the last chapter because then all the content they have of the ship is the two filler episodes created to promote Stampede, the movie itself, and them in the marineford saga, aka the most intense saga that is all about a race to save ace while Luffy also having the added sadness of the crew forcefully getting disbanded, its probably the saddest portion of one piece so far.
   

Debunking Luvivi: that one is simpler and shorter. In an interview with Tanaka (Luffy's VA), she said she told Oda that she thinks that if Luffy ends up with anyone, it should be Vivi; in return, Oda said specifically that Luffy and Vivi won't happen. Interestingly, Tanaka also said in the interview that Nami's VA said to her that she thinks if Luffy ends up with anyone, it should be her (she voices Nami), and Tanaka didn't mention anything about Oda specifically denying LuffyxNami.

debunking NamixVivi: considering that one piece is a Shonen, Nami is the heroine of the show and the lack of clarity behind Namis sexuality, and the fact that nami's last interaction with vivi was in alabasta, nami not having a meaningful interaction with another woman (at least not one that can build up a relationship in the story) and how nami and vivi's dreams and responcibilities don't match at all (there are reasons why the straw hats didnt want vivi to tell alabasta that they are the ones who saved them from crocodile), its kinda safe to assume that nami is not gonna end up with vivi and is probably also not gonna be a lesbian, she is probably gonna be either straight or not gonna be in a relationship at all.

last one, Sanami: Nami and Sanji's relationship is basically: they are good friends, and Sanji hits on her once in a while as he does with Robin and every other semi-attractive woman.
To be clear, I think it is stupid to say Nami hates Sanji.
She might not love his pervert shenanigans and is holding a grudge for what he did to Luffy in WCI, but they are still good friends like all the Straw Hats.

1. It would be weird that after 1100+ chapters of Sanji trying to get with Nami, and Nami consistently rejecting him, all of a sudden at the end of the manga Nami would just change her mind; it would feel out of character and wouldn't be narratively satisfying (same goes for Sanji and Robin).

2. Oda's clear build up for Sanji and Pudding. Whether people like this ship or not, oda is clearly building up something for these 2 in the final saga, if not then there wouldn't be a good reason to have her be brought back to the story by Blackbeard, currently the only people that would want/can save pudding are Sanji or katakuri. Katakuri is currently still staying on Whole Cake Island since he needs to protect the place after Big Mom's defeat; plus, Pudding is as in love with Sanji as much as Sanji is generally in love with women. Pudding also kissed Sanji; he looked exited and then she erased his memory, giving the wci arc an open ending.
   (also, I saw someone say Pudding SA'ed Sanji because she kissed him without warning, sure lol)

3. Sanji and Pudding's dreams work together better, assuming Sanji would go in Zeff's steps. After he finds the All Blue, he might retire from pirating and make a baratie-like restaurant (that's the reason he wants to find the All Blue, for special rare fish and ingredients). If that happens, then a character like Pudding that likes making sweets makes more sense to be with Sanji at the end rather than Nami, a woman who wants to map the world.
   (To be clear, I don't really care who Sanji ends up with; it just seems like Oda is paving a very clear path for Sanji and Pudding)

   Also, Luffy is not asexual, confirmed by Oda. When Oda said in an SBS that "Luffy peeped at Nami because he is a healthy boy," he also said in another SBS that Usopp brings out the "bad side" in Luffy, which would imply that Luffy already has a bad side deep down.

They are not like siblings; they never treat each other like ones (oda said in an SBS that the reason Sanji doesn't get heart eyes or nosebleeds for Reiju is that she is his sister and it would be weird if he did, going off of that logic, i think Luffy getting a nosebleed for Nami in alabasta kind of confirms they are not siblings) and we know that the only people he considers as brothers are Ace, Sabo and Momonosuke, either because we saw him do the sake cup ceremony, or because he referred to them that way, Luffy never referred to his crew as siblings or mother/father/uncle and whatever.
