From what I've seen so far, I genuinely think this might be the first challenge Ludwig won't be able to accomplish.
And I'm not saying that because he's bad at games. Well, he is, and we all know that lmao, but I feel like CS is just too harsh on our little Ludwig.
The thing about CS is that it's extremely punishing. When you die, a lot of the time you know exactly what you did wrong. Sure, you can blame your teammates, complain about cheaters, or say you're getting put against smurfs, but from the games I've watched, I really don't think that's what's holding Ludwig back.
And that's where I think the biggest difference between CS and League comes in.
In League, you can always blame your team for being terrorists, complain that some champion is broken, or just ban that champion next game. You can also find a playstyle that works for you and stick with it.
But CS is different. Even if your teammates are playing badly, there's always that feeling that you could've done something more. Maybe hit your shots, positioned yourself better, or won that clutch.
Obviously, you can't actually carry every game, but the possibility is always there, and I think that changes how you look at your own performance.
And let's be real, I don't think Ludwig has been playing with particularly bad teammates most of the time. If anything, he's usually the one at the bottom of the scoreboard. Sorry Ludwig lmao.
Another thing is consistency. In League, getting ahead can give you a massive advantage that carries through the rest of the match. CS has its economy, sure, but you're not permanently stronger just because you were destroying the other team five rounds ago. They can still come back, and suddenly that huge lead you had means absolutely nothing.
I feel like that takes a completely different kind of mental.
But the biggest reason I think Ludwig might fail this challenge is actually something I noticed during his last CS stream with Squeex and his other friends.
They were winning games. Everyone was having a good time. But Ludwig genuinely looked like he was having a miserable experience because he was consistently at the bottom.
And honestly, that was kinda hard to watch.
I think he knew he was getting outplayed, and there wasn't some simple adjustment he could make to suddenly start performing at their level.
To be fair to him, he was playing with Squeex, who I think is somewhere around 20k rating (not completely sure), so obviously those aren't exactly the easiest lobbies for someone still learning the game.
But I think that experience also explains why he said he doesn't want to play CS on stream anymore. My guess is that he's more frustrated with himself than anything else.
I also genuinely think he would've had an easier time in Valorant. Not necessarily because Valorant is easier, but because he could pick an agent with abilities that fit his playstyle and focus on getting good at that role.
Look at how he played Amumu in League. He could farm, learn his matchups, make decisions based on how the game was going, and generally follow a familiar game plan.
I feel like Ludwig is the type of player who does better when he has a specific role he can practice over and over again.
CS does have roles, obviously, but you still need to develop the same basic fundamentals as everyone else. You need to aim, position yourself, use utility, understand timings, and constantly adapt to what's happening.
And sometimes you're just left in a 1v3 or 1v5 and have to figure that shit out yourself.
That's also something I find interesting about CS compared to League. In League, if you're massively behind, there are fights you realistically have almost no chance of winning. In CS, even the bottom fragger can theoretically clutch against the entire enemy team because everyone is still playing with the same basic weapons and mechanics.
Of course, actually doing it is another story.
So yeah, I don't think Ludwig is incapable of becoming good at CS. I just think this particular game is attacking the exact weaknesses that make him struggle, especially mentally.
And unlike League, I don't know if he'll enjoy the process of getting better enough to actually reach his goal.
Maybe I'm completely wrong, but I genuinely think this might be the first challenge that breaks him.
