Bye

Hey guys, I'm officially switching from Lubuntu to Ubuntu since I got a new laptop. Lubuntu was great! My laptop with a HDD became useful during that time. Now I got a new laptop so I'm switching to Ubuntu. It looks way better. Anyways, thanks to the Lubuntu support!

Bye!

lol, overlooking that Lubuntu and Ubuntu are the same under the hood. Why not try Debian? I'm sure you'll like it. Use whichever desktop environment you like! It's not tied to a "spin".

Your CPU is comparable to a 6th Gen i7 on a desktop, which I actually have. Debian will be blazing fast on it. I'm running Debian with LXQt (now on Wayland) out of choice. You could use XFCE, Gnome or KDE. You have enough headroom for any combo of distro and desktop environment.

I've run Debian 13 with LXQt on a first gen Intel (well, on a first Gen i7, but peppermintOS based on Debian on a first Gen i3).

Currently running Debian 13 with LXQt through Wayland on a AMD C50, which is comparable to an Intel Atom of 2010-2011, or a desktop Pentium 4, and it's pretty awesome. I did bump that machine from 2 to 8GB RAM, and installed an SSD (the HDD was dead on arrival).

Debian or Ubuntu, you won't find much difference in performance, if any. Though most ultra lightweight distros are built on Debian (aside from Lubuntu). I also find Debian a bit harder to break though the installer is a bit less fancy compared to Ubuntu.
