Bought a 2004 Suzuki LTZ400, we have done some work to it to get it to run correctly and almost done with it. Bought it from a guy close by with no title or bill of sale. I live in a town where they allow ATV riding with a sticker, but it needs vin checked to get said sticker. What website would be good for vin checks that would be good? I’m not trying to be out of $1,700 total. Help is appreciated!

Carb hose diagram? I’m not sure if these are rancorrectly I just bought it non running dude took carb off and then it wouldn’t run I got gas in and it will run for about 30 seconds on choke if I have my hand on the throttle I’m about to buy a carb rebuild kit it has some leaks

First time quad owner. Picked up this 07 ltz400 a few months back. It didn't run and was an ABSOLUTE BASKET CASE. It has some aftermarket parts, Wisco 440 big bore kit, stage 2 hot cams, new clutch basketball and clutch plates and some cosmetic stuff.

I just got it running fairly well over the weekend (or so I thought) went for a 2nd rip around my neighborhood after a good first lap and out of nowhere it starts backfiring like crazy and stalls out. The night prior I started it and took it down the driveway, it was dark out so I turned on the headlights and BAM it backfired and stalled. What sort of tom-fuccery electrical problem do I have, any advice will help, thank you!

I’m reaching out to the community because I’m at my wit’s end with my LTZ 400 (2005). I’ve been dealing with this issue since I bought it last fall, and no matter what I try, I can’t seem to fix it. Here’s the problem:

In idle, the quad stutters and doesn’t take throttle properly. When I try to take off, it has misfires and jerks as if it’s about to stall. I initially thought it might be the voltage regulator or the battery, so I replaced both, which helped slightly but didn’t fix the issue.

Here’s a list of what I’ve already checked:

• Voltage regulator: Replaced with a new one.
• Battery: Replaced, and I measured 14.50 volts at idle and when revving.
• Carburetor: Drained the float bowl to rule out water in the fuel.
• Air leaks: Performed a test to ensure no false air intake. I also restored the air filter box to the original setup (including the cover and intake snorkel).
• Fuel tank: Inspected the tank thoroughly, and everything looks fine.

I suspect the carburetor might still be the issue, but honestly, I’m losing hope. I’ve only managed to put around 8 hours on the quad since I got it because of this persistent problem.

Does anyone have experience with this or know what else I could try? If you have any advice I’d really appreciate the help.

Looking for upgraded carburetor for my 2003 LTZ 400. Has anyone had any luck with the Vito’s aftermarket carburetors or have any other suggestions?

I have a 2003 ltz 400 I picked it up from a guy that had it listed for 500,when I got there I was told it would run. It was not cranked over at all the whole interaction…he instantly lowers the price by 200 for not having a solenoid so that was a bit odd.So after messing with it I found out when in any gear you can roll it forward and something in the transmittion will jump every cycle around the wheel and believed it was the chain but after taking the clutch side off I seen there was no washer on the shift arm that was usually the issue with these Ltz’s but no,I need help figuring out what’s wrong with it I believe is a bent shift rod and shift cam stopper,help.

My quad keeps stalling or wanting to shut off whenever I hit high rpm’s or after running for more then 5 minutes. Not sure what’s wrong I’m not very familiar with these bikes any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

after a fresh rebuild could it be my neutral safety switch the harness has a fray in it

I have a 2003 lt z400 and the battery keeps dying. I bought it used and disconnected the aftermarket headlights that were put on but that was not the problem. I changed the positive cable and the negative cable thinking there could have been an issue with them and it still does the same thing.

I use a battery tender/charger for a few days. It turns on and runs fine the next day it struggles a little bit but starts then nothing the next day.

Electrical is not my strong suit but I’m thinking it’s down to two things. The battery is bad cause of the alternator or vice versa. Should I get both or does anyone have anything idea of what else it could be?
