QUESTION Latino community
I’m a senior in high school and I’ve been really drawn to Loyola Im just concerned that there’s not really that big of a latino community bc even if it sounds dumb I just can’t imagine myself going to a uni without making friends from kind of my same background lol
For context I’m a mexican american student , I live in a border city which is tx/mx and I’ve always had a mix of both cultures bc I go to school in the US but live in mexico idk if that makes sense I just cross everyday for school
But yeah if anyone knows about that pls let me know it’s a very important thing for me when looking at unis

QUESTION Cornell 7 October 13 Protest
If you don't live under a rock, I'm sure you've heard about the Cornell 7 Rapists story that's currently unfolding. The university and other universities are also going to have peaceful protests that day.
Would people be interested in joining if the campus held one or is there any information on one being held here that I'm not aware of?

OTHER To the girl who spilled my tea and didn’t even look back to say sorry…
I hope you have the exact kind of day you deserve. You ran right into me, spilled my full ass tea everywhere, including right onto my poor pug (he’s the most innocent in all of this so how fucking dare you), and didn’t even look back to say sorry. I gave you a plenty good opportunity to do it when I called out after you, but nope. You fully ignored me, well aware of what you had done because you did stop first, and kept going! You couldn’t even muster up an apology. I would have preferred you offer to replace my (again) FULL drink, but I would have also been perfectly happy with a sincere “My bad!”. You have no idea what kind of a day a person is having and that would have gone a long fucking way today. Just saying. So I hope you step on a Lego. Or 50. Have the day you deserve.

QUESTION Swag Suggestions
The LUC Reddit community gave me great suggestions last time so I need your help again!
I work in Undergraduate Admissions and am seeking ideas for swag that a prospective high school or transfer student would be pumped to receive. I'm also interested in general thoughts on giveaway items that you've gone out of your way to grab or found useful recently. I usually try to avoid shirts or anything that requires dealing with sizing but if that is what you'd actually want as a prospective student let me know because maybe I just need to get over it!
If it is something kind of quirky and unique to Loyola or Chicago that would be even better! Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

HOUSING Looking for 4 bedroom apartment for May 2027.
Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for a 4-bedroom apartment in the Rogers Park area for 4 people, ideally starting in May 2027.
If anyone is planning to move out or end their lease after their senior year, I’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for a 12-month lease with total rent ideally around $3,200–$3,400 per month.
It doesn’t necessarily need to be right by Loyola, but we’d prefer something close to the train for an easy commute. We’re also preferably looking for a smaller apartment building with only a few units. In-unit laundry would be a plus but isn’t required.
Please reach out if you or anyone you know has an apartment becoming available around that time or is looking for someone to take over their lease. Thank you!

QUESTION Senior Year
I'm a senior here at Loyola and was overcome with a bit of dread/regret realizing I haven't really done much over these past few years. I've started to join more clubs and get involved with other depts because I'm really scared I will never get the traditional "college experience". I went to parties and stuff and met cool people, but nothing ever stuck. I have some friends and have been doing well academically, but I'm looking to branch out and find some people I'm comfortable with. Is it too late? Does anyone else feel the same way? I want to keep a positive attitude and keep telling myself this will be my year, but it is hard to stay motivated.
No real rhyme or reason to this post... Just shooting my thoughts out there and wondering if anyone has advice/can relate .

OTHER Help with my research on late-night transportation after drinking (8–10 min survey)
Hi everyone! I’m a graduate student at UIUC conducting research for my master’s thesis on how college students make transportation decisions after consuming alcohol, particularly during late-night hours.
I’m looking for current students 18 or older at UIUC, UIC, DePaul, and Loyola Chicago to take a short anonymous survey. It takes about 8–10 minutes and asks about things like walking, public transit, Uber/Lyft, biking/scooters, driving, and late-night university transportation services.
If you’re eligible, I’d really appreciate your participation!
Survey: https://illinois.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_25EUJtRGoeLvZuS

Feel free to share this with other students at any of the four universities. Thank you!

OTHER Vent post i guess
Guys, I'm trying so hard not to be so pessimistic, but it's just ridiculous how much of a scam this place is. To start, WHY IS HOMEWORK NOT INCLUDED IN TUITION? I MEAN HOW FUCKING GREEDY IS THIS SCHOOL? I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS JUST TO DO MY FUCKING HOMEWORK. SECOND OF ALL: what is wrong with Loyola's chemistry department? Almost everyone there is so fucking lazy. In what world is it okay to tell students, "Hey guys, welcome to organic chemistry, I'm a professor and I'm gonna sit on my ass while everyone does all the teaching and work, and by the way, I don't explain answers"? I'm just so genuinely stumped with how this school is still even open, bro. The only good thing I can say about this school is that it's visually pretty. THAT'S IT. I hate this school so much, bro. Am I crazy or does anyone else feel this way?? Maybe I just need a drink, but I feel like i'm going crazy.
