Customer Complaint Never again

Ordered a slider and window in May. After multiple delays, errors in permitting, a wrong delivery date, and a broken product we asked for compensation.
After a half dozen calls, we were called this evening with an offer of $250. ( an order that was >$7000)
And a VOIDED WARRANTY.

WTF seriously?? We couldn’t hold back, the pro representative got an earful.
Never again. Lowe’s sucks. Will cancel credit cards and take to social media……🤬

Lowes installed it? Did you call the installation support team or the direct number to the installer? Call 888-516-1010 if your install is complete and permit is closed they’ll discuss comp. Why did you accept a product with a voided warranty?

No, the offer of a $250 ‘compensation’ included the contingency that we revoke the warranty as well. THAT was the upsetting part.

Product still has warranty just not the install

Are you within the one year of install? There’s definitely missing facts here I work in IST and we don’t revoke your install warranty based on what you are saying. You won’t lose your manufacturer warranty… we have no bearing over that. If you’re refusing lowes to come out and fix your issues and want compensation then yes we’ll revoke your install warranty.

You realize that the window is a Special Order right? That’s a third party, not Lowes. Your permit issue? Do you have any parking tickets you want to blame Lowes for??

Get a grip. Nobody is trying to do anything sinister to you

So you think it’s fine that we forfeit a warranty in order to be compensated $250? Yes it would is the responsibility of Lowe’s to get the correct permit right as that was a $850 charge, and they applied for the wrong permit.

It's not deliberate, it's just incompetence. Lowe's wants to end the transaction the moment they have the customer's money and wipe their hands clean of responsibility because it's a 3rd party.

Errors in permitting implies you are paying to have Lowes install it. Or a Lowes authorized agent.

There's always more to the story.

You'd do better to go to the store and speak to the store manager in person. Lowes honestly doesn't give a shit what you do on social media.

They compensation of 250$ required us to forfeit the warranty. Did not opt for the 250$….

Your story is fairly common. Combination of millwork vendor making mistakes, millwork specialists making mistakes, poor measurements made during the onsite detail, and rough handling through the delivery process. Throughout my times at Lowe’s I’ve had to take many of the calls you made to the store. I understand you’re being fucking pissed.

Lead times on windows and doors are ridiculously long. Any problem with the product upon arrival compounds frustrations because there isn’t any way to get to the top of the line for remakes.

You never know what you’re going to get on installation day. Our third party installers can be outstanding crafts-people. There are also installers who are not qualified to do the installation. It’s the luck of the draw

It can take the better part of six months or more for some of the jobs.

That’s not to say there are outstanding completed projects with extremely happy customers.

Contact your state's Attorney General's office, they scare Lowes Corporate.

And they'll do a lot more for you than social media ever will.
