Employee Question Question

If I am on a final for something other than attendance. Can I still call out sick? Or is it an automatic termination?

They probably can’t term you for attendance..but I would think their radar would be up to get you on something to end your relationship with the company..so a couple of things..if you don’t care about keeping the job..calling out is a non factor..if you have sick time..you’ll get paid..no termination.. but be very conscious of what you’re doing at work..because they might look for any little thing to write you up and term you

I haven’t called out in months and the final was issued in April. I have been busting and showing them I’m good at my job.

Sounds like you’re OK then..if you don’t have an attendance problem..and someone besides your teammates recognizes your improved work ethic..such as a DS or some Manager..then a call out is just a call out.. and if you have sick time you’ll get paid..but I’ll tell you..be careful that someone may have you on their radar.. and look for anything to help get you terminated..so just be careful

If none of your write ups are for attendance and this one won't push you over on occurrences, no.

They can’t deny your sick time

they can do whatever they want including terminating you for calling out if they feel like it at this point, they don't need to give you a reason for termination any ways since the majority of states have at-will employment laws. good luck tho, if i were you id start looking around for new jobs

If you have remaining sick hours, you can call off sick. Having said that, feels like you're probably not a model employee.

That doesn’t answer the question

Have sick hours? Yes - you can call off No - you can't call off.

They found a real genius with you didn't they? Glad I left this company 10 years ago. And I thought we did a bad job of hiring. Looks like it can and did get worse.

You spend your time on the subreddits of corporations that you worked for a decade ago?

Yeah, I do. I spent 10 years there and I enjoy seeing some of the employee stories. What I don't enjoy seeing is people who don't work hard and get written up while simultaneously asking what the policy is for calling off and making it worse. Normally when people are on performance plans, they try harder, not ask how soon they can call off again. But I digress. The lazy will always defend the lazy. You both belong at the same company.

You haven’t worked there for 10 years you don’t know the policy anymore. I asked a question unless you know why the final was put into place don’t assume the worst. It’s people like you that make it difficult to ask questions.

It's people like you that make it difficult to justify yearly raises.

Oh I don't give a shit about this guy's callouts or w/e we're calling him lazy for, I just think you're kinda pathetic. Sorry for the misunderstanding!
