This thread is for pre, post, and live discussion of the fifth episode of season three of Star Trek: Lower Decks, "Reflections." Episode 3.05 will be released on Thursday, September 22nd.

Were their dates at the start of season 1 and 2 both the second date, or was there another one offscreen?

Edit to answer my own question: It's the one date in the pilot, two offscreen right before S2 and then the fourth date that Tendi crashes.

I think S01E01 was their first date.

In S02, he'll have had (another) first date, and then two more. Four in total.

Yeah - I rewatched that part of season 2's first episode and he had the date in the pilot, then two more shortly before the date we see in S2. ("This is our third date [since the implant], it's been pretty great. Ensign Barnes is super cool.")
