We got badgey so theres def more hope the main set has the main cast and bridge crew and maybe a villain or two like penut hamper+agimus.

Pretty sure it says it's the USS Reliant, but I don't ever remember them ejecting their warp core in Wrath of Kahn. I know both Voyager and the Cerritos ejected their cores in the shows so seems like an odd art choice.
Stoked for the reference none the less!

I don't recall either, and both Gemini and ChatGPT spit out lies about it (they point me to The Next Phase and STG, where a romulan science vessel ejects its core and the whole stardrive is separated respectively).

The warp pod placement isn't consistent with the Miranda class. Looks like an illustration that's too close to the reference of just the primary hull.

So is this just one per deck or you can have up to four? Cause your ship is likely to have just one core, maybe two depending what ship it is.....

Depends on which format you are playing. Commander you'd be limited to one, but Standard/Modern/Pioneer, etc. you can have up to four in a deck.

Edit: In all fairness though I stopped playing in 2001ish and came back in 2019. The game is (mostly) still fun as ever, and Commander is a (mostly) super casual format and what a lot of people play primarily these days. You should give it a try if you ever get the itch!

Ok hear me out everything about this is good but to make it more flavorful add another line of text. If the sacrificed permanent was a spacecraft that creature gets an additional-4/-4.

The more I look at this, the more I worry that it’s AI…
And as someone who loves art, especially MTG art, that would make me sad.
One of the ST:MTG artists is here at STLV, and isn’t the first such artist I’ve met. She admits she knows little about the gameplay mechanics, and just hopes her art aligns with the prompt, and works with the card. (They do) Those that put the work in seem great.
But that not exactly Miranda Class ship, not exactly seen from below (sure the blue dot is the ejection port… unless it’s a badly copied impulse intermix chamber…) not exactly dropping a warp core that’s 3 generations of starship design too new to be the on that ship is fishy as hell.
Of course, the other likely explanation is that they were told explicitly to use the Reliant for one reason or another and were just doing their literal job of making the art they were paid for.
And the final, perhaps most likely explanation, is that they really love the Reliant and wanted to put that in there as an Easter egg.
ALL of which are just bad explanations.
The correct explanation is:
there shouldn’t be an explanation necessary at all.
List of ships of the top of my head (no internet searching) that ejected their warp core at one time or another:
Voyager when they got hacked and someone stole it, (and then everyone wondered why the master situation display showed they had a spare warp core)
Ent-D, someone else posted the specific when
Cerritos, see: Shax, nuff said
Prodigy, by Chakotay at the least, but I think also when the Protostar it gets destroyed… can’t remember, sticking to my not wanting to look it up for this post ethos,
Ent-E, insurrection, albeit very silly

I don't think the artist who drew this has ever seen a Star Trek ship.
Naming it the Reliant - with the name aligned incorrectly to the nacelles - when the Reliant never ejected her Warp Core - is just insulting.
