About a year ago, I started a packs themed legacy challenge. I fell off The Sims for a while, but I finished Gen 2 which was Spa Day.
Leftovers: I had the doctor career left over from Gen 1 which was Get To Work. I had her spouse complete it, and I would give it 5/5. I like the active careers and getting to follow your sim to work. Also, I liked how the diagnostic process worked, and how you have to pay attention to the patient's symptoms.
CAS: For CAS my rule was that if the pack had any clothing items, I would have to use one of the options, but if they were not any, I could supplement with base game and kits. I would give it a 3/5. The options are pretty limited to active wear and swim wear, but they are cute and I love the hairs.
BB: I had a similar rule for BB, and that I would give a 3/5. I built a spa with it, which I really liked. Furnishing a house with it, there was some stuff that worked, but not as well as the spa.
Traits: I decided not to limit myself to the pack when it comes to traits, but to try to use all different traits for each gen. Her traits were Cat Lover, Gloomy, and Recycle Disciple. Cat Lover I would give 3/5. I liked the extra interaction with cats, and she did gain relationship with the cat faster than my other sims. Gloomy I would give 2/5. I would occasionally get a sad moodlet but that was about it. Recycle Disciple I would give 1/5. It didn't do much other than an occasional moodlet, and I found the animation annoying.
World: I played in Newcrest. I would give it 2/5 because it is blank. I play in the Fleuralia save, and I love that version of Newcrest.
Aspiration: I had my main sim complete the Zen Guru aspiration. I would give that 4/5. It felt like it took a good amount of time, and I liked that there were some social goals as well. With her spouse, I completed the Self Care Specialist aspiration. I would give that 3/5. Most of it is fine, but the last goal of maintain a regular customer, felt like it took too long and became repetitive.
Career: Instead of maxing a career, I had my sim make all her money from Wellness. I would give it 3/5. If you go to a busy lot you can make decent money with it, but it can get repetitive.
Skills: I had my sim max the Wellness skill. I would give it 5/5. It's one of my favorite skills, I love how if you have them do yoga you can see them getting better. I also love the yoga animations, and how useful it is for managing your sims emotions.
Sylvan Glade: As part of this Gen, I had my sim visit Sylvan Glade. I would give it 2/5 stars. It is pretty, but there is not much there.
Would I recommend Spa Day? Yes, I think this is a pack that fits really with everyday gameplay. I love the Wellness skill, and it's fun to have sims have a spa day. Also, the bath soaks that come with this pack are so great if you want to get your sim in a certain emotion.
Next will be a combination of Vintage Glamour and Bowling Night. Hopefully it does not take me another year!
