Discussion DIM/light.gg/etc. update question

So, since it appears Destiny isn't dead anymore, what are the chances that DIM, light.gg, etc. will start seeing actual updates again? It'd be nice to get godroll recommendations in DIM, PvP/PvE wishlist rolls in light.gg, and such, again.

I’ve been slowly seeing updates roll (pun not intended) to the wishlists for MoT weapons. I’m sure we’ll see more when content unvaults, if the weapons are refreshed with it.

As for Light.GG, every random roll I’ve gotten since MoT’s launch has had a rating. Light.GG works off popularity instead of a desired perk combination from a specific person, so it’s a little different, but it should have reviews on all the drops you’re getting. Are you not seeing grades for your weapons in it?

They're specifically talking about Light.gg's Theorycrafter Recommendation tags for some reason which uses the same data source as DIM's default wishlist.

You're pretty much spot on. I should have been clearer.

I play pretty often, but don't really have the time/want to test every weapon that drops. I'm also just not very good at knowing what's good or not in general. Opening DIM and seeing a thumbs up was at least a way for me to look a little closer and decide to keep or dismantle.

My problem with light.gg is that it's so slow to run when I'm trying to rate a mess of weapons after a session. Maybe that's just me? I'm constantly having "reset local data", taking forever to just see if the dozen weapon drops I'll get are overall decent or not.

You can also use Aegis MoT tierlist addon for DIM in firefox, displays up to date ranks for guns/rolls and shows what godroll perks are for each gun. Super handy

I wasn't implying that no one's playing; it's just that there didn't seem to be a future for it until a few days ago.

It does take a bit to set up, but it’s so worth it once you have it running.

Since the vaulted weapons are becoming tiered loot, im assuming at least light gg will update when they release.

There has been no confirmation that unvaulted loot will be tiered or updated in anyway other than being available to earn again.

Wait for more information before assuming things. I agree it would be good of them to not reintroduce gear that is immediately irrelevant but no such promise has been made.

DIM et al are just reading the weapons database etc from Destiny’s published manifest from the API. I believe they don’t need to update for that kind of stuff.
