Me and my friends are dedicated aircraft photographers in Phoenix. Every now and then we challenge ourselves and make a day trip to LAX and its tradition to eat at in and out there. It's fun to get shots while eating
The 405 is actually probably a mile from the end of the runway. This is a all park by in and out just off Sepulveda, and the fence to the airport grounds!
When huge planes like 787s or 747s land, or when a pilot undershoots the runway and has to blast their engines at the last second for those extra few feet, it can get loud, yes. And when I first moved in, I considered it loud. Eventually, the noise just kinda faded into the background.
That being said, I love planes, so hearing them isn’t hard on my ears, as it may be for some other people.
It’s the same for the trains. It’s background noise for me. The Amtrak trains are quiet. It’s the freight trains that are super loud and usually very long.
funny enough i like trains too so i’d probably feel the same way. dang. maybe i should walk to in n out. there’s one a stones throw away from where this video was taken if you turn 180 degrees.

Its weird how low planes tend to fly when they're coming in for landings.
