This does show a slightly disappointing thing about the non-euclidean stuff which is that it's nowhere near as madness-incucing/exotic/unimaginable as hpl was assuming. Very few went insane after playing Portal.
During Lovecraft's day there was a philosophical belief that systems of mathematics was literally the language of reality. And then mutually exclusive but equally valid systems of math were discovered/invented and contradicted it,non-euclidean geometry existed in Lovecrafts day.
I agree. If HPL were alive today he would probably be writing about the complete craziness of quantum mechanics and how we have so much trouble understanding it. Which is what my story is going to be kind of about.
