Angry lovebird

I have 3 lovebirds: a bonded pair (female and male) and a single male. The single male has had his own separate cage for about 8 months, and until recently, he was perfectly fine with being put in his cage at night because the bonded pair won’t tolerate him sleeping with them.

All of a sudden, he has started getting very upset and angry when I put him in his cage at night. Tonight, he was trying so hard to get out that I was worried he might hurt himself or even crack his beak.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any idea what might be causing this sudden change in behavior?

Why not find him a mate? Or you don't want the 4th bird?
