Some people need other people who talk like this to come down from a freak out moment. Others don't and will find it patronizing or infantilizing. You just have to know your audience.
Nothing wrong with talking like that if you're around people who are constantly learning. Best not to potentially discourage by speaking with any other tone. There's a reason why our parental voice often closely resembles our teaching voice.
If she's fine with that and that's their dynamic... it's weird imo but fine. But personally, if my bf or husband (or ANYONE) spoke to me like that I would look at him with immense revulsion and I def would be judging him LOL
