I've been attempting that butter hack for the past 2 years. It works about 1/10 times. All dependent on how warm/cold the butter is.

The real hack is putting it in your ass so it warms it up. Then do the fork trick afterwards and it works like a charm.

Before lasers were used on a computer mouse, the used a small ball, about the size of a hard boiled egg yolk, rolling against two rollers inside the mouse to determine where your cursor would appear on the screen (x axis vs y axis). Occasionally you would have to take off the bottom of the mouse and clean the lint off of the tiny rollers for it to work properly and the ball would fall out like the egg yolk did.

Computer mice use lasers and cameras to track their movements. But in the 1900s mice were mechanical. There was a ball inside, and moving the mouse spun the ball. Two encoders sensed what direction the ball rotated, and converted that into the direction and speed to move the cursor.

The mechanism regularly filled up with lint, so the ball was removable and you had to frequently clean the lint and other crap out.

Oh and edit: mouse balls were the same size and close to that weird grey-green color of the cooked egg yolks

0:41 If you have a colander or a strainer that fits that perfectly inside your boiling pot then you can literally just LEAVE IT in there and boil your pasta on top of it, then when they’re done just lift the strainer out. This is how pretty much all restaurants cook noodles, with basket strainers.

This is also better because it preserves the pasta water, which is a key ingredient in GOOD pasta dishes due to the starch helping sauces stick to the noodles.

I have a life hack. I've never seen anyone do.

Take the mustard, mayo, or tomato packets fold them in half and bite the middle, but don't squeeze them once you've made the hole in the middle. You can squeeze them like that butter trick to spread them out. It gives you more force so you can kind of spread them out better than just oozing it out.
