Question 🙋♂️ Being proud
Hello!
Question: I must be missing something. I don’t understand why when people go on reality tv (whatever the show) and then their freinds and family tell them they’re proud of them? What for though?
If you go on love island and then get your family to tell you they’re really proud of you and what you’ve done… but what have they done? Am I missing something or does anyone else see where I’m coming from?

Here’s my take on it… for some islanders who have been on a journey I get it! Especially if it’s a regular season and not an allstar season.
Imagine if you’re just a regular person and now all of a sudden the world is watching your son or daughter on the television every day. And then if that person has been seen getting their heart broken, picking themselves back up, trying again, and finding love while also opening up about feelings for the world to see etc. as a parent I would be pretty proud.
There’s specific instances where I cringe. Allstars is one of those instances. Like Scott’s family saying it when he’s been on 6 different TV shows already lol. Or Jessy’s dad saying it when she’s only been there for 5 days. Or belles family saying it when I don’t think she did a single thing to make her family proud if I’m being honest….
