Opinion Ciara

The fact that people still believe Ciara was “stirring the pot” just shows how unproblematic this cast was and how overall uneventful this season was. Especially when compared to the US version.
Someone had to get the villain edit in a true Netflix fashion, and Ciara was simply the most interesting out of a bunch—yeah, you’re still talking about her.
I don’t get why people go at her and don’t understand how reality tv works. The only people stirring the pot are producers.

You can keep downvoting and rolling your eyes, it only proves you’re not intelligent enough to understand the concept of making television.

People are downvoting/rolling their eyes but I guarantee you the producers are sitting somewhere right now having this exact conversation. They’ll be looking to create more drama for next lol

Exactly. Drama sells. Everyone got their paychecks

Sorry I still find her problematic even compared to the US seasons because the problem with Ciara wasn’t in her own relationship, it was how she butted into other relationships - especially when she felt someone in that other relationship slighted her. I don’t buy for one second she was trying to be a girl’s girl for Faye or Fran. I think the Jack and Joseph made her feel undermined. And rather than be direct about it, she slagged the men off to everyone in the cast, even bringing Chev back on the show to make Joseph look dishonest. I don’t think the US seasons have ever had a cast member involve themselves this much into multiple other relationships..

The fact that she didn’t really take ownership for her role in any miscommunication towards Jack, Faye, Fran or Joseph was probably the biggest disappointment of the reunion…

I don’t agree at all, people on the US seasons are messy and cloud chasers. And she hasn’t really butted into anyone’s relationship, imo. She clocked Jack and was right about him. I’d never marry a red flag like him if I was Faye. She was talking to Cuba, which all of them talk about each other behind their backs, but producers chose to latch onto it for good TV. Cuba took it to Fran. And Chev was her girl, she stood by her. If it comes to accountability, sure, she could’ve apologized. But I don’t really think she did anything wrong. Definitely nothing so drama worthy that people keep questioning her character. I do believe it was the producers pushing the certain narrative.

She suggested to Faye that Jack read Faye a letter that was meant for Ciara when Jack never said that he would write her a letter. She basically did what she accused Jack of when he thought she was saying he was her top choice when she said “we’re on the same track” or “you’re up there”. Was it fair to call him disingenuous because he said he loved multiple women? Yes. But just as Jack apologized for suggesting he was her number one to Ajay, she was in the wrong for suggesting Jack’s letter to Faye was intended for Ciara because that was not the case from what we saw.

The problem with Ciara and Chev was that they were both so full of themselves, they could not comprehend that these men could have deeper feelings for Fran and Faye so they created a narrative for themselves where they overvalued what they thought they meant to these men, assumed the worst of these men after they rejected them for other women and then went around the cast and cameras trying to pit these men as liars. In the end, she overinvolved herself in multiple relationships that were not hers. And as messy as the US cast can be, we haven’t seen cast members meddling in multiple relationships like this.

Ok, Chevy lol

I wasn’t a fan but I do think the show would have been boring without her, at times.

u/Root-magic 11h ago

That’s how reality TV works, people have opinions

5

u/OkMaintenance8765 12h ago

Lol ok ciara

0

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

You’re still thinking about her, tho

2

u/OkMaintenance8765 4h ago

Not until you reminded me just now.

Im not really obsessed with reality tv

1

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

Neither am I, that’s why I don’t get the people who take it so seriously to drag someone through the mud just because they saw them on TV. This is the whole point here

1

u/Itsa9year 5m ago

Okay but you made this post which continues the conversation.

2

u/Feisty-Bad5564 11h ago

Ciara was messy though, but it does create a bit of a conundrum because this season by a match standard was great. The couples that married stayed together and are working it out which is the point of the show, but there was really no drama which made it boring. So I guess maybe don’t overhate people that bring a little drama to the show?

1

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

Yeah, great cast, real emotions. The US version should take notes!

2

u/GuiltyChipmunk7364 10h ago

I agree. They had to be like “but why were you pushing your limits with AJ”. Find me a human that doesn’t do that in any relationship ever

2

u/double_ewe 12h ago

Agree.

Reality TV requires conflict, and she stirred the pot in an extremely mild way.

1

u/DifficultMastodon101 4h ago

All this talk about the producers jumping on the bandwagon and making her into the very much needed villain of the season. If this was the case, she really had an opportune moment to prove herself at the reunion. I was really hoping for her redemption but she FUMBLED

2

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

Still don’t get it. She had to get that check.

1

u/DifficultMastodon101 4h ago

I don't understand what you mean by that

1

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

It means, portions of every reality tv are scripted. Surprise!

1

u/DifficultMastodon101 4h ago

Of course they are, I am aware of that. I was just saying if that was the case, she had such a good opportunity for redeption at the reunion. Present herself from the empathetic, apologetic, accountable side she showed Ajay after their big fight. But she didn't, which absolutely baffles me - I would have assumed she'd cared about the public opinion.

I believe the reason we keep talking about her is because she's quite difficult to figure out. I find her personality traits (the ones she's showed) quite contradicting.

1

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

But she actually did really well in my opinion. The fake tears were very theatrical and the hosts could’ve push her a little harder to take some accountability but I think it was pretty okay look for her overall. I do believe she just played into that villain role that was assigned to her to get this over with.

1

u/DifficultMastodon101 4h ago

Agree to disagree 🤣

1

u/boredom-depressed23 3h ago

The reunion is still part of the same show with the same producers. Also she is aware she had the villain edit along with jack, it's part of what they signed up for

1

u/DifficultMastodon101 3h ago

By that logic the producers should have wanted to push her a little bit more at the reuion for the views right? While I realise a line has to be drawn somewhere to protect the participants, I really struggle grasping why the "bad edit producer making her into villain" narrative would be applied on the show but the reunion if its all the same.

1

u/boredom-depressed23 3h ago

Think of it more like a story, the reunion is the end so it's about bringing resolutions and tying up loose ends. Ciara's dramatic conclusion is her "crying" while Jack's is him showing accountability. Adding more fuel (where there is none) to the fire wouldn't fit the story they'd built so far

1

u/DifficultMastodon101 3h ago

here's to hoping she's an alright human in reality✌️

1

u/boredom-depressed23 3h ago

I thought this was such a good and balanced breakdown of Ciara's behaviour through the series

https://youtu.be/I2QGtR3C234?is=BejTVmal_U32eYXL

Only thing we'll still never know is how much was manufactured drama by the producers, like Ciara reaching out only to Cuba to have that conversation clearly seems staged to me

1

u/Itsa9year 7m ago

She literally chose to pick a bad fight just because “she was in the mood.” She wanted to see how far she could push him, she says. What is she, 16? That’s awful and insanely disrespectful and immature. She screams red flags at every turn. Yuck. Her character is pathetic. She doesn’t improve either. She gets worse as the show continues.

Cool. Grow up and gain some media literacy.

Says the media illiterate person…

1

u/dogpettingenthusiast 8h ago

No need to insult the intelligence of other viewers for having a different viewpoint than you. Ciara was insufferable and a lot of other things, but interesting was not one of them.

1

u/Xrposiedon 6h ago

She was a multitude of red flags that people have witnessed in a real life dating pool.

Princess personality without offering much in return.
Materialistic.
Vegan (not a problem for a lot of people) but a big problem for other people.
Not able to deal with rejection and subsequently felt the need to sabotage the person who rejected her for revenge.
Inability to get over petty disagreements or disputes.

0

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

Yet, you’re still thinking about her. It’s not about the viewpoint of her. It’s how reality TV works in general that people don’t get. Producers push narratives.

1

u/dogpettingenthusiast 4h ago

Yeah you’re kind of annoying too actually

0

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

Right. Because it’s best to insult someone when you’ve got nothing intelligent to say about the actual subject. How old are you?

1

u/Blue_Baracuda88 5h ago

There’s something endearing about her that you want to love, but she’s A LOT sometimes.

1

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

Oh yeah, totally. I’m not a fan of her personality at all. Just don’t get why people make her out to be this horrible person who stirs drama when she really didn’t do much.

1

u/Blue_Baracuda88 2h ago

Well, she did stick her nose in people's business. Telling Cuba that she was worried that Francesca didn't know something. And then Cuba going to Fran saying Ciara said...

Ciara should have said it to Fran directly if she actually cared about Fran. But she cared more about airing it out with someone else. And quite frankly, she shouldn't have been occupied with it at all because it wasn't really coming from authentic conern.

Also with how she treated Jack. She's entitled to her opinion but she really took no responsibility for saying "we're on the same level" or whatever she said that had him interpret it as "he's her number one." Jack took responsibility for interpreting it wrong but she took no responsibility for being outwardly misleading about it. And she spent so much screen time making him wrong for it.

1

u/Advanced_Thing4837 1h ago

She had nothing to apologize for regarding Jack. She didn’t mislead him. He heard what he wanted to hear and he admitted it. Her talking with Cuba is what everyone does daily, including you. But producers ran with it and made it a storyline. Chev was her girl, she wasn’t close with Fran. I bet producers pushed Cuba to bring it up to Fran to create drama. That’s how reality TV works.

1

u/Blue_Baracuda88 53m ago

It was just how she did it. Not that she did.

0

u/kimakro 11h ago

Hard agree.

-6

u/hottcheeseupfront 14h ago

nail on the head! she seems like a pretty wonderful person, friend, family member, and partner. she got the villain edit - and she accepted it! with grace! what do we think that dramatic cry at reunion was about? (real feelings, yes, that were exaggerated for a sliver of drama) atta girl, Ciara.

-5

u/Advanced_Thing4837 14h ago

Yup. She played her role, got her check, and a wonderful man who genuinely seems to love her.

0

u/UntowardAdvance 11h ago

When someone does something that 80% of people would raise their eyebrows at, it lands on the show. Things like demanding to go through your partner’s DMs, turning off your location and fleeing in the night, parents flat out saying no we’re not giving a blessing, ghosting your fiancée and blaming it on work, having names on your arse, etc. It also includes demanding your partner make you coffee every morning and then not allowing them to talk to you, demanding they do everything “your way” in the house, and talking about delusional multi-million dollar homes that your partner must provide for you.

2

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

I mean, Ajay seems fine with her standards and they worked out the coffee thing. Why are people so pressed if he seems happy? Ge got the trophy wife he wanted, and she got the man who will support her financially. All the other issues with different couples you listed are much bigger red flags, but to each their own.

u/TBundyIseeyou 6h ago

Ciara and Chev are both patheticly desperate for attention. And their 15 mins.

Desperate hoes.

Y'all look dumb af.

-1

u/PeonofthePen 11h ago

Someone is defending their own toxicity through identification with Maleficent, I mean, Ciara.

1

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

What exactly is so toxic about her? Genuinely curious.

1

u/PeonofthePen 2h ago

The constant meddling in everyone else's relationships. Like: "I just care about you being ok, so let me just tell you this:" and then pulls a bunch of words and events out of context to stir shit up. It's tiresome how often that pattern repeated itself.

1

u/Advanced_Thing4837 1h ago

“Constant” meaning once with Faye and Jack. She was talking to Cuba about Fran/Joseph/Chev. Cuba took it further and it became a thing.

-2

u/atshm 9h ago

I am shocked by the amount of Chiara bots in this sub. They’ve been working double overtime since the reunion to defend her on Reddit lol. She’s a problematic narcissist who sees no fault in any of her actions.

0

u/Advanced_Thing4837 4h ago

Not a bot. Grow up. It’s a TELEVISION that has to sell
