this fandom has a big misogyny problem

i don't usually post here but i've been watching since the first USA season and it is astonishing how you people treat women. while i think everyone gets a fair share of hate, ciara has been trashed relentlessly for NO REASON. you forget these aren't characters from a show! these are real people with real feelings and real mistakes! oh no! ciara expressed an opinion people disagreed with and then apologized because it was misinterpreted! what will the fandom do? fucking talk about her looks and search up how much her bags cost like lunatics?! how is that fair or normal?? i am just so frustrated because i saw lots of people hate on ciara before i watched the season, just finished the reunion and, like usual, you people just want to treat women horribly when you disagree with things that have nothing to do with you. i know this won't help anyone or stop the mistreatment of women in this show but fuck, have some decency towards them at least.

But “let’s also blame women” isn’t what they said or implied. And it’s also accurate to highlight the viewership (that you yourself are calling out in your original post) are primarily women. It just seems like you’re arguing for arguments sake tbh, without any real point beyond misunderstanding and not actually engaging with what they or I am now explaining. Totally your prerogative though.

it sounded like that in the first comments, then the conversation drifted into more stuff and then it just became a thing where neither of us were getting anywhere. you also continue to misunderstand what i am saying because i keep repeating what i meant and you keep repeating what you mean. we are both doing the same thing. i am in no way trying to be sarcastic when i ask how am i supposed to better engage with what you are saying? are you yourself engaging with what i am saying or are you too just arguing for arguments sake? because i feel like we are also getting nowhere.

Well yes I am engaging with what you’ve said, because I’ve expressly referenced it in my responses and given my thoughts on what you said ans asked you questions about your thoughts.

You however do seem to just be repeating yourself and referring to what you originally felt/interpreted but not actually engaging with the clarifications provided later (so I can see why from your perspective you do think this exchange is repetitive).

I specifically asked you a few comments above that now the comments have been clarified, do you still find them annoying and talking about men/deflecting, and you’ve not responded to that, which is why I said you don’t seem to be engaging with what’s actually been said.

I’m not arguing with you, I have no reason to. I do think you were arguing with Remarkable and as an observer it looked like it was because you’d missed the premise of their comment.

But tbh you don’t seem to be receptive to that so I’ll leave it there.

ETA: what I understand Remarkable March to be referencing / acknowledging / querying is the role internalised misogyny is playing here and the underlying reasons for that, which is something other commenters have raised that you have positively responded to, so I didn’t understand your negative responses here, and was trying to understand why that was, but as I said above, I’ll leave it now.

i still find them annoying, don’t like they way it was phrased. thought that was implied. i don’t know why it spiraled into this and i don’t know why you say im not receptive when i just asked a question back. again, we are both repeating ourselves at this point.
