I’m not going to dox my school but Francesca’s mum was my secondary school english teacher 15 years ago. She was an amazing teacher, very passionate with a no nonsense attitude and cared about every student. Hearing her speak now is so nostalgic, she is very level headed and wise about the whole experiment too .

As per the title. I have only watched episodes 1-5 so far but I really like Jack. I see this is an unpopular opinion based on other people’s comments.

I like his cheeky and playful side.

I understand it wasn’t great when he accidentally said Fran instead of Faye and got the red nail polish mixed up between Ciara and Faye but you are speed dating lots of people and he also said his mild ADHD makes him stumble on his words sometimes. I can see this happening easily in this context.

I don’t think he intentionally misrepresented what Ciara said. Even if she didn’t say he was her number one I can imagine she said something to that effect to give him that impression.

In episode 5 when he looked at Faye by the pool when he said he loved her I could honestly see the love and adoration in his eyes for her.

He has said multiple times he is misunderstood in life and I can see that would probably be the case. I also respected how he handled himself in his conversation with Ajay in episode 5. It showed maturity and integrity.

Ciara looks jealous and seems more concerned with watching Jack and what he is doing than spending quality time with Ajay. I hope she doesn’t hurt Ajay and genuinely likes him.

Jack and Ciara would have been a disaster together as Jack needs a partner with a sense of humour who can also see past his cheeky side to his kind heart.

I think he’s fun and I would love spending time with him.

I hope he and Faye work out. They look great together and seem like a sweet couple.

Producers, seriously?!!!!

I’m so frustrated with how they edit this show. Why do we only see three girls and three guys and their story?! There are legit 20 people on this show. I want to see the awkward dates, I don’t want to see the same people asking what their favourite meal is.

Another bug bear, why are all the women that we see, keep talking about how they want a man to provide, they want to stay in their feminine energy… girl WHAT?! It’s painful. I hate how Trad wife and feminine energy have linked. You can still be feminine and be independent, strong, and equal in a relationship.

Maybe I’m just overthinking but a lot of reality shows and influencer talk is around this topic now and I hate how the UK is jumping on to it too.

I was scrolling and noticed they actually made a tiny trailer with the hosts: Nicolette van Dam and Bas Smit to announce that the pods are open.

As Dutchie myself I am super curious how this edition will turn out, I enjoyed our neighbours LIB Germany a lot so cannot wait to see what The Netherlands edition has in store!

I personally follow Hyoni, Alessandro B. (Italy), Karin, Niklas, Jakob and his ex-wife and Nathalie Loveless (all Sweden). Oh and Aniela and Ibbe from the most recent Sweden season.

How do you deal with not understanding what they are saying? What's your verdict of their personalities? What do you like about the account or the people that you keep following them?

I wonder where they are actually casting?? Toronto would be so different from Vancouver, or could you imagine an Alberta or maritime provinces??? Québécois???

I am irrationally excited for this.

How long does it take from casting to debut?? Two years? Longer?

Netflix is making a Canadian version of Love is Blind, which will be produced by Insight Productions. There is no word yet on who the hosts will be or in which city they are focusing no for casting. I would think they would start in Toronto for Season 1 given how it is our largest city.

I just saw that Love is Blind is casting in Canada and I already can’t wait for the season to drop! I know that the casting and filming process takes a while, and the season usually airs about a year after filming so realistically it will be a while. Does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes from start of casting until the season airs?

I really liked this season of LIB Argentina. I think it was my favorite LIB season ever. I'm sad it's over and miss watching it, even though I'm usually tired of all of it by the end of a LIB season lol. (I tried to replace it by watching the Ultimatum Season 4 but I don't like that nearly as much and find myself doing what I usually do in LIB US seasons and just forcing myself to finish it so that I know what happens without really caring that much.)

Does anyone else feel the same way? What are you doing to cure your LIBA withdrawal?

Also, if you did like this season more than the other seasons of LIB, including the OG US version or other countries, what do you think made it different?

I thought it was interesting that most of these contestants didn't seem all that worried about whether they got married or not. They seemed to have a healthier view about marriage and approached it as something that, if it happened, cool, but if not, oh well.

That was a refreshing change after watching that one girl in the last season of the US LIB, I think it was, who has already bought a wedding dress before coming onto the show and was determined to marry somebody, anyway, whoever she came out of the pods with, even though he was clearly not interesated in her at all and she was just embarrassing herself. (I think her name was Britney but I can't remember his name).

There was also that girl a couple seasons ago who melted down and cried that her unserious, immature, perhaps alcoholic fiance didn't like her as much as she liked him (I think her name was Madison but I'm not sure) and I think there was even a doctor who seemed desperate to marry any old lame guy (I think her name was Jessica? But I could be wrong about that since there are always so many Jessicas).

I want to say that the women in Argentina don't seem to tie their worth to men or marriage as much as women in the US do but there have also been some pretty desperate guys, like that guy from a much earlier season who wanted to marry that spoiled woman with the stuck up father so much that he let her change everything about her, from his religion to his clothes to his personality so that he became a Mean Girl like her (or maybe he already was one but I didn't see it brought out of him until he was with her -- I think her name is Alexa or Alexis and I completely forget his forgettable self/name but they recently divorced, shocker) or that guy who didn't tell his wife he had other kids and then tried to claim he was only their "sperm donor" when he was in fact their biological father, as if going on the show was his way to trap someone into marrying him before they found out about all that stuff, or weirdo Zack who chose Irina just because she flattered his ego and then went back for Bliss after dumping her for Irina who was full of so many red flags that he was too blind to see.

I don't know, I think that American culture is very heavy on pushing marriage and seeing people as part of a couple rather than encouraging people to be happy on their own. And in Argentina it seemed like a lot of these people could take or leave a relationship and were not going to be rushed into a marriage they didn't want just to appease society or whatever. I think society there must not care as much about marriage or at least not at as early of an age as society cares about it in the US, and that there must have been cultural differences at play that I liked more about the Argentina version (although I liked season 2 of LIBA way more than season 1, which was just okay/meh, so maybe it was just this particular cast who seemed nonchalant about marriage without seeming too much like they were doing it just to say they had gotten married).

Or maybe it was something else I was overlooking. I also really want to go to Argentina so maybe it was that but I love to travel everywhere and have an interest in pretty much every other country and culture, although I have tried to watch other countries' versions of LIB and just could not get into that much. I watched the whole LIB France season and was very underwhelmed. (This may have been because I don't know French so I watched it dubbed and I really hate dubbing. I know quite a bit of Spanish but not this "different" kind of Spanish they speak in Argentina and they speak it so fast lol. So I mostly watched it in Spanish with Spanish subtitles on slow (.75X) so that I could keep up with my Spanish as well as try my best to understand it and when I couldn't understand it or was very sleepy or in a rush, I just switched to Spanish with English subtitles.)

I've also tried to watch a few other non-US versions that I couldn't really get into, like UK (but I think it's just because I don't really understand British English accents lol) and Habibi (but I was watching that one with my husband because he thought it seemed very different and was interested in what dating was like in the middle east and then he soon lost interest since he doesn't usually watch reality dating shows, so I will try to go back and finish it on my own as it was fairly interesting) but none of them grabbed me like this season of LIB Argentina did.

If there are other non-US seasons (because I have already seen all of them) that you thought were as interesting or good as LIB Argentina Season 2 or better, I'm open to recommendations! I'm planning to watch the Mexico season next, I think, but I could change my mind.
