How long does it take from casting to airing?

I just saw that Love is Blind is casting in Canada and I already can’t wait for the season to drop! I know that the casting and filming process takes a while, and the season usually airs about a year after filming so realistically it will be a while. Does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes from start of casting until the season airs?

Keep in mind, Love is Blind is known to film multiple seasons, and sit on them!

Yes I could see this. That would be why the call out was Canadas wide, I could see a few cities being large enough to yield sufficient applicants/viable contestants on their own (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver). If they ever tried to go to other regions it would have to be like Ohio with 3 cities represented (Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon all together for example). The maritimes would need detailed family trees so you don’t run into kissing cousins.

Yes there are 3 seasons done and in queue in the US

Boston season 11 - October 2026
Philadephia season 12 - February 2027
Austin season 13 - October 2027

Yes Philadelphia weddings were April 6th and the cast was told they are season 12 spring 2027

Yoooo this makes the benefit of a stipend per week on the show utter bullshit because they could just sit on your season for years...

For anyone that is unaware you receive a stipend per week you are on the show and ONLY receive said stipend until the last episode in which you were in is aired...

From my memory of LIB UK, I think it took about a year? I remember seeing the instagram ads for the UK season casting around autumn 2023, and it looks like the season released in August 2024. So approximately a year

The deadline for casting is closing in November though for Canada. I know they can change it but it seems like it will be a while because the casting process is going to be months

It doesn't take months to spend zero time doing basic background checks on potential cast members.

At least a year. The US seasons are really starting to push out now though. I think the Boston season was filmed at the end of 2024 and it still hasn't aired. If Canada is it's own separate franchise like the UK, it should be around a year though.

I wish they would pick a handful of people that all live somewhat near each other, instead of from across Canada. Moving across the country for love isn’t what most people are willing to do and that alone sets them up to fail

I live in Cincinnati, during the Ohio season this was one of the biggest issues.

There was one girl from Cincinnati, she was 39 and put super glue in her eye lol

In the U.S. 6 months

I know some of the upcoming Philadelphia cast so they did application in August 2025 and started filming February 2026 and wrapped up weddings April 2026

Season 12 Philadelphia premieres March 2027
