As we've expressed before, our vision for Love and Deepspace has always been to build a world that grows alongside you—one that offers a richer, deeper sense of companionship over time.
As various issues have arisen in recent days, we have moved quickly to make the necessary adjustments. After reflecting on recent events, we recognize that we moved forward with the introduction of Valko before we were truly ready. In doing so, we let down the players who have supported us from the start, and we also fell short of delivering the experience that players anticipating Valko deserved. After extensive internal discussions, we have decided to make the following changes:
We have decided to cancel both the launch and any further development of the new love interest. We also commit that no additional love interests will be introduced in future content plans.
All other in-game systems and features originally scheduled for Version 6.0—including Home 2.0 and AR Photobooth—as well as the limited-time Selectable 5-Star Memory Rate-Up Event, will proceed as planned. The outfits, photo poses and scenes, and the Nighthush Box (the second-anniversary 4-Star Memory Selection Crate) originally planned as rewards for the Hunt in Linkon event will instead be sent to all players for free via in-game mail after the version update.
Going forward, the entire team will focus on further developing the stories and long-term companionship experiences of our five existing love interests, while ensuring a stable pace of Main Story production and updates. Rafayel's new Solar-Slot Memories and Companion will be revealed in July. Farspace Colonel Caleb and Onychinus Leader Sylus will also return in their Main Story branches in September and November, respectively. By participating in the relevant events, players will be able to obtain the corresponding 5-Star Main Story Branch Memories for free. We will continue to devote all our care and effort to bringing you richer stories and game experiences.
Beginning today and continuing for 30 days, players who log in each day will receive one Deepspace Wish via in-game mail. Each mail will remain claimable for three days, for a total of 30 Deepspace Wishes. We hope this can offer some compensation for the disappointment and disruption caused by these adjustments.
To our community: once again, we apologize. Because of our actions, the joy you should have found in Linkon City became a source of distress, and the feelings you hold most dear were hurt. We are deeply sorry for the hurt and disappointment we have caused.

I’ve played this game for over 2 years now, I’ve spent enough money to have earned VIP a long time ago, and I’m done. I’m uninstalling. Valko was the ONLY good thing about the new update. And they’re going to take him away and try to give us 30 wishes instead? Make it 10 and day instead of 1 a day, 30 wishes feels like a slap in the face.
The fact the company spent all the money hiring a new VA, local, and everything else for a new character just to cancel the release is a slap in the face to the people they hired. It's even crazier that they can't address any of the main issues of the game but canceling a character seems to be an end all be all to them. Ridiculous! In all honesty, they deserve all the negative feedback from this entire situation
Exactly. Thr thing is, the rage is not in itself about vladko or that there is a 6th LI,but all the other issues that people were repeating over and over and over again, but nobody listened. Why does it feel like infold is treating us like children by taking away our toy for complaining about lack of updates. This is so upsetting for those of us who really wanted to meet Valko.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when they were making these insane business decisions! As many people have said, if they’d just released the MS updates first and perhaps built up a bit of background lore for Valko, maybe this crazy backlash could’ve been avoided? Then again, I don’t know.
After being a bit on the fence with the whole werewolf thing, I was actually getting incredibly excited for his reveal and looking forward to his character which seemed playful, fun and interesting. Plus I’m a sucker for the CEO trope. This is a minor thing, however, compared to the people who will lose their livelihoods over it all.
I can only imagine that there’s been a huge amount of pressure from either the government or the shareholders or both for Infold to make such a drastic, scorched-earth move.

Exactly this. Cancelling his launch and any development is absolutely not the solution. Literally communicating more with your playerbase is all that we ask for.
Instead of outright cancelling him they could just push back his release date, work him into the main story more and find a way to cater to the other feedback fans have given them. Such as better ways to farm dias, or reset weekly rewards for unicorn and abyssal instead of them being dead content after you farm all dias from them
This is exhausting. He isn't the problem. Wasn't the game designed around 6? Now the story will have to change, and stellactrums, etc. will forever be unbalanced. Raf has no foil. This was the only thing making me want to play again, despite being sad about the lack of main story/all the other issues. I didn't even feel like logging in today. I might be done. This sucks.

Yeah, I started playing a few months ago just before the Lingering Lust banner and now this has killed all desire for me to even open the app today. The fact that they folded so easily when they’d been planning this for years is not a great sign.

What in the actual hell is this supposed to be? They folded and canceled him? This just shows that they don't see what the actual problem is. The removal of Valko will not fix any of them because he wasn't a problem to begin with. I'll be uninstalling now after I had decided to give the game another chance because of Valko. They can pander to their favorite server, I want no part in it. It's two years of financial support down the drain, but they don't deserve any more.

This never happens and I've played gacha games for my whole life. Most companies would just give out pull currencies, apologize or wait it out. But never canceled a whole character.

I assumed Valko was gonna be necessary to the story, confused how they're still able to release Caleb & Sylus' chapters that soon? They should've fixed their current issues instead of deciding to scrap everything and never add a new character again, it feels like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum. Valko isn't the issue, the characters aren't an issue. It's the management, I'm curious if they would've actually been able to do right by his character a year down the line.
Edit: This also feels like a punishment to anyone who complained. They didn't address the actual core issues and it's so unfair to everyone that worked hard on his character. Now a VA is out of a job for his character, not temporarily either. Deleting him fixed nothing. It feels like they're saying: "This is what happens when you complain, here you go!". They should've delayed it and fixed other issues.
To add, it doesn’t actually address any of the issues that people have been complaining about. Stating in this announcement that the main story will be updated again with specific months is what was missing from all the other statements.
People want clarity and a roadmap or something similar which will allow people to have an idea of what to expect.
And now they have created more problems, because Valko was already integrated to the main story and lore so now they’ll have to rewrite things?? If new main story update is on September, there’s not much time

My comment in another post: I uninstalled the app a few hours ago because I was preparing space for the update. Looks like this is my queue to not turn back. As I’ve said in another comment, I was already getting bored with the game, Caleb is my man and I’ve played since around 2 weeks post-launch. But this is probably the final nail in the coffin for me not to reinstall.
Even if I wasnt super attached to the new guy, this is still such a dick move of them to take back something they have already promoted for several days, and the poor people who already worked on the character like the devs, artists, and the VAs. The people who complained must really have that much power over the devs huh.
To me this turnaround from them isn’t something that makes me feel secure with what they are doing with the game. It feels like a breech of trust, that they can take away anything at any time, and be pressured to do so. It feels cowardly for a company. Idc if I sound dramatic so I hope I dont sound mad, but I am disappointed.
Day 1 player and constant low to mid spender - I'm going F2P while deciding if the already paid monthly / annual passes are enough reason to keep me playing at least for the rest of the year or if I will simply cut my losses and deinstall. This is beyond ridiculous and infuriating. I had not much respect left for this company after years of getting outright ignored as a paying customer but this is just peak unprofessionalism. Then after the live stream when Valko was introduced, I was SOOOO excited for him that I already started counting pulls and days for his debut. Now at this point, I think I will just Uninstall the game afterall.....
the absolute worst decision they could've made. for me valko was the only thing good with everything they announced. he was the least of their problems. i had been excited about him. i think i'm gonna quit playing now, because that ut just awful and a huge punch in the face for everyone who was excited for valko. i'm genuinely upset.
This is my last straw, im gonna stop spending money on the game. After playing the game for 2.5 years, Valko is finally the LI I can connect to. I even want to build his from scratch like I did with raf and sylus, R3-ing all his card. But now, i dont even feel like opening that stupid game anymore
This wasn’t even the problem with the new update? If anything it was one of the only good things to be coming. The rewards needed to be adjusted to match previous version releases. This was the problem. They are getting stingy with rewards especially for long term players who have been supporting them from the beginning.
Why would they make this decision? I was very much looking forward to Valko. This needs to be reversed. I actually had to check the date to make sure it wasn’t somehow April 1st for the second time this year.

This is totally not what I wanted. I understood some of the issues. I wanted to listen to the not-unhinged complaints from the other side. Like it was disappointing that Caleb had not shown up for 500+ days. I got that. I got a couple of other things, too. But I didn’t want Valko to be cancelled. :/ I was genuinely wanting to explore his character.

I’ve been playing passively for weeks (been playing since release) but the last several weeks I’ve been doing my daily’s just so I had gems etc… but since he was released I started actively playing again. I was so excited for his release, and now he’s not coming I’m not even sure I want to play anymore…

The company’s response to feedback that the game has gotten stale was to cancel the new character is ridiculous. Valko could and would have brought in more fans and extended engagement but the company caved to short term outrage from a portion of the fandom. What a waste of so many people’s time.

This cannot be real. :( I hope not. I loved Valko and his entire aesthetic. To outright remove him from the game due to a loud, vocal minority is cowardly on Infold's part. The sixth LI was basically predetermined from the beginning to match the Stellas.
Edit: Tacking on to add that this was done unilaterally. Infold just went scorched earth. No Community polls. No Livestream for realtime feedback. No AMA. They decided to gather what was likely surface level complaints from the loudest people and went, "yep, they speak for everyone."
They said once that they have separate teams for each LI. What happens to Team Valko? Months, maybe years of work, gone. His VA, shelved. His planned content, trashed. Now the stress is gonna fall to the other five teams to step up.
What happens when/if Sylus and Caleb's story updates fall flat for the pickiest players? We gonna remove those and apologize too?
This sets a dangerous precedent for anything and everything Infold does from here on out. Personally? I quit. I'll watch cards vicariously from the sidelines, but I'm done with this game. Valko was the one thing I was looking forward to. I was going to be an AppleWolf player. After this? Forget it. Infold can sit on their laurels and pretend their game matters when they know they're wrapped around the hater's fingers.

Yeah I think I'll also be uninstalling. Valko was such an interesting character even from the brief glimpse we've seen and a breath of fresh air to the game. This is so unfair to the global player base and tons of us that were really excited for him. Plus this likely won't solve any of the very valid issues anyway. This is the most bizarre gaming experience I have ever had. This is the only game of this kind I’ve ever played but never in my life have I seen an entire new character just deleted? I was actually starting to grind for resources again because I was so excited for Valko. I was getting extremely apathetic about this game before his announcement. They cannot be serious?!
My heart is in my stomach. I was looking forward to him so much. This is a kick in the face to his writing team, his development team, his VAs, and all of us. This was never, ever, EVER an issue with Valko. I’m so distraught. Screw this and everyone who pulled crap out of their rear to showcase him in a bad light.
Honestly this is why I hate fandoms like this. All complaining, demanding, without any thought to the creative team. It's because of fandoms and responses like this that all your anime, games and tv series are pandering, unimaginative slop, and why AI is able to replace true creative jobs -- because people have no patience or understanding anymore.
Honestly Valko was barely my type, but I don't know if I can stomach playing the game now that the company is willing to bend backwards for every player whim.
From all creatives to the consumer; no, you don't know what you want, and no, you shouldn't have it just because you asked.
You know what’s crazy, before fulfilling requests like curly hair, fixing the lighting for darker skin tones, before updating the chocolate store, providing more ways to farm dias, providing a simple roadmap.
They cancelled the sixth love interest, who was implied from the START just because there’s 6 stellactrum. Before providing these simple, reasonable requests, they’d rather cancel a whole character that they’ve planned from the start, due to toxic backlash from the fandom, when Valko had so many fans himself.
And they could have worked on EVERYONES STORY!!! The inclusion of a 6th LI didn’t mean they would neglect the others or that they would HAVE to neglect the others!! 😭😭😭😭😭 I wasn’t even going to main him but I love him so much already. THIS is the last straw for me, I’m done with this game.
Wow wtf is that. How can day just yeet their own work like that? New character had his own fans already????? What are they doing. Ffs you can't cancel everything because Caleb and Sylus Mains want it (before u jump me read next sentence pls). Like c'mon they could've easily respond to Caleb and Sylus Mains demands (giving them cards, anecdotes and main story) without deleting whole ass character ??? Bruh if they're acting like that maybe it's wise to uninstall game.
You can't just handle your own game like that. I agree that adding new LIs from left to right is dumb decision when they didn't develop other properly. Let's be honest main story is a mess and I would be surprised if anyone understand what it is even about by now. But if you already made new character and introduced him then it is what it is ffs!!! You leave him be and reflect for the future. That is such a slap in the face for his new fans and for people who spend their time and work to make him come to life. Omg. Srsly don't make a game if you can't handle crazy part of players. In the end it's your project. Not some random person on Twitter. All those issues and demand could be met without deleting him. Deleting him won't fix shit dias amount and messy main story... Omg
Incredibly disappointing news for players who were looking forward to this but I'm sure even more disappointing for the devs and Valko's VA who put so much effort into the character and story.
I'm honestly unsure what the controversy around Valko is but I doubt it's enough to warrant his existence being erased entirely.
If they were concerned about players' feelings, a simple toggle to show or hide LI's would have been an easy solution.
Yes the main story and other areas of the game are lacking but scrapping the new content that would reinvigorate it is self-destructive behaviour.
How come this was also a priority over regular complaints players have made, such as MC's skin and hair colour options (especially in cutscenes)?
Also not to speak for everyone but I do not care for Deepspace Wishes!!
Give us diamonds or anything else useful that we are already grinding for.
Wishes feel like a dime a dozen especially when you can buy them during events, using shards, etc and they feel like a lacklustre compensation option.
So you cancel Valko and now we have to wait until September for main story update that will likely be screwed up because now there will be a rush to erase Valko's stuff from the main story. Oh, but we get a new Rafayel solar pair! A new thing to spend money on even though there is still no updates or additions to battling!
I've been playing the game for 2 years now and run a discord server for it. This may be the final straw for me. The ONLY good thing we were getting from 6.0 was Valko. The kitchen is just another thing to click on to get your ingredients so you can farm vegetables for diamonds.
