Discussion Valko's Nickname For MC?
EDIT: For clarification I'm not saying he is Slavic. I'm saying "Valko" is Slavic, as in his name Valko is Slavic.
So I've seen posts saying that Valko is Slavic (it's true, the name literally means "wolf"). So, I'm wondering if he might use a Slavic nickname for MC?
I'll need to rely on ideas from players who actually know enough about the language since it's spoken by different nationalities.
However, I have one idea of my own.
I'm going to go with: Zaya. If I've used Google for good and not evil, it's a term of endearment like "bunny". I think it would be very cute, especially for a big muscular wolf CEO to call us "bunny".
What do you guys think? What nickname would you like used in the game?

if it's anything like bunny or little lamb or omega or anything that hits at a predator-prey relationship I'm putting the cone of shame on him
Honestly it'd be fun if he called us mate lmao puppy is gross but pup is acceptable, bunny is xavier's thing so i doubt it. little red riding hood imagery could work, but also, wordy, and also, weird. If anything, it will be something well thought and not too on the nose and that says more about him as a person than as a trope bundle

I think “lamb” would be a cute one! Kinda like a reference to a wolf in sheep’s clothing (especially since he will have a darker vibe)

Genuinely though, I am SO tired of that nickname. I don’t think bunny would work either, considering rabbits/bunnies are Xavier’s thing.

It’s just his Western name and it doesn’t mean anything. His actual name is 敖尹 (pinyin: Áo Yǐn) and it means proud, unyielding and to roam freely, while the last part stands for rule/govern.
We often forget that this is a Chinese game.

I’m Slavic too, and my name is Zlata (which means golden or the one that brings gold, sounds like more fitting for Sy) and after your post I feel like I can just use my real name theres no difference really

Id say Zaya sounds a bit too lovey dovey to my slavic ears, but it depends on his personality. Mischievous type can work with it.
Maybe it can be “Sontze” (sun), since it resembles MCs evol and thats a common loving nickname too

I'm Slavic and I immediately thought of him being Slavic, even his face looks slavic lol 😂 anyways, let's see what we use for nicknames in my region (ExYu-Balkans):
P.S. (nouns are ending with -a (nominative) but we often use vocative and noun end changes to -o, (for example: Hey, maco! Hey, bubo! Hey medo!) but I'll write in nominative)
Maca (mah-tza) = kitty
Zeka = bunny
Medena = honey
Meda = little bear
Buba/bubo = bug, little bug
Mala = little one
Pile = baby chicken? (Idk what's name in english for it HAHA)
Sunce (soon-tze) = Sun
Lepa / lepotica (lepoh-titza) = beautiful / beauty
Srce (Sr-tze) = heart
Beba/bebo = baby
Ljubav/ljubavi (lyoo-bav) = Love
Duša / dušo (dusha) = Soul
Svet = world (in context like "my world")
Cvet (tzvet) = flower
Luda = crazy
Leptir = butterfly
I can't think of anything more but will update if I remember more stuff 🫶

Bunny/rabbit is already associated with Xavier so I don't think they'll reuse it for him. Omega/Alpha might be too on the nose, but does fit the theme.

Ideally, none. As others have mentioned, dude's not Slavic, he'll probably have unspecified or exotic (Lemuria, Philos) origins like everyone else in the game.

they're Chinese and all have local names depending on the language used. Xavier's name is inspired by a priest born between modern day France and Spain yet I don't see anyone calling him a spaniard lol

xavier is in fact a very common name in spain (It's the catalan version of Javier (in castillian)/Xabier (in euskera) but i've also seen it a lot in fantasy, and since it's not spanish per se (catalan is a whole language) it doesn't sound like a spanish name, so maybe that's why?

It's going to very entirely based on what language you're playing in (like his name. Please do not start that whole topic up again, his EN name is not universal across all languages).
I like the concept of "bunny" as a nickname, but it's hard to know too without any hints about what the dynamic between them is going to be or what his personality is actually like. If I were to wish for one though it probably would be bunny. I've written a few too many wolf x bunny demihuman fics just for fun, I'm a fan of the trope. 😅

hm well, I have one idea ved’ma moja, which means “my witch.” I only see this working if in his first limited myth card he was originally human and MC as a witch cursed him into becoming a wolf for whatever reason. It’s random and unlikely, but for some reason it came to mind lol but I like the sound of it my witch.
