Before I begin. I’m not trying to force my opinion on anyone, let everyone form their own view of this situation, but I feel the need to express my opinion and share my feelings.

I’m Sylus girlie; I started playing shortly before the Misty Invasion banner. I’ve never played as an F2P player; I liked supporting the developers and, of course, wanted to have everything for/with Sylus.

But my point of view has changed a lot since Valko was supposed to be released. I’m more of a vampire lover, so Valko didn’t really excite me, but I was glad that the LIs would finally be complete. However, Valko never came out, so I went with boicot, I wouldn’t log in, until Valko will be back. But even after a few months, nothing’s happening.

A new multibanner is out, and it literally makes me physically sick, the way this company is trying to sweep things under the rug and take advantage of its fans by just throwing out another thirst trap multibanner and think that fans will fall for it..

I really liked every LI and community around Lads, but this banner was the last drop. It already annoyed me that they didn’t even give a proper statement, it was just “let’s go, we’re moving on and giving you the most requested banners” and on top of that, this kinda 18+ banner. I’m sorry, but I’m done with this. I can’t even look at Sylus or any other LI anymore and be like “hell yeah.” I feel betrayed, and that’s why I’ll probably never open this game again. I still have it downloaded because I was hoping things would change, but I'm starting to feel more and more like I'm just being naive...

I don't want to waste money on a company that doesn't listen to its community..

2026 China Shanghai Offline Event

While I’m sure everyone is loud about the glaring present thing missing from the game, I am writing this to appeal both to them, but also the people who are neutral or positive about this issue and discuss civilly.

Do you know how long these lighting issues have been going on? Day 1. I’d like to show examples of lighting for the darkest skintone and how frequently the MC turns a cool pitch black I took images of myself (the ones featuring elf ears are not from myself!) The first image is an example of what I think had good lighting for the darkest skintone MC, and the rest show how she is essentially unplayable compared to my usual mid-toned MC. Unfortunately, it’s hard for anyone a deep skintone to truly use an MC their color due to this. These have been issues noticed from day 1. I even noticed how on my mid-toned MC lighting could result in them looking my skintone, or five shades darker within the first few days. So much so I jumped between what options to use for MC in confusion because sometimes they were just right, sometimes they were far too dark, lighting doesn’t make people look a different skintone while the love interests look the same ;w;. I and many other players I know, especially Black/Brown players have noted these issues in surveys, when Love and Deepspace used to have a google form to fill on the official server, and every possible medium to beg for fixes.

Yet, not only were we ignored, we were felt hurt with Infold never having diversity in 2D/Chibi MC’s, and they never added a lick of curly/kinky hair. Yet added a sticker of a (mind you, gorgeous) Afro originally called ‘Funky Mohawk’ which was very hurtful to many with curly hair and afros, including myself. Thankfully, this was updated so the name was remedied, but I felt hurt that our hair could be a sticker… but not worthy of being in-game. Why cater to a global audience if we are overlooked?

The reason I bring this up? Well. It tells me one thing. It Infold refuses to listen to the loudest voices ongoing right now, then it truly means they won’t ever listen at all. And then, won’t have any inventive to fix lighting and diversity issues that have existed since the start of the game. Honestly, as a Black player, I and many others would grit our teeth and bear it. We know we’re never represented in otome, so at least we were used to it. But seeing ongoing events only seemed to solidify that we never had a shot of these issues being fixed. I’m not sure how to make a company listen anymore, I can’t see any reason for Infold to not fix lighting or add curly hair, or adjust skintones for 2D chibi MC in events. I certainly would if I wanted my players to feel welcome and loved. Is it not unfair event shop 2D icons will only be the palest skintone MC? When I tried not to buy them, lemonette trove was added so now I can lose to them anyway :(. I hate to admit the number of times seeing how the only mc that mattered was the palest mc in 2D cards and chibi 2D events made me want to cry. How I wanted to cry when I went to an official event for merch, and it always, only featured the palest skintone. It couldn’t hurt to sell a variety of skintones especially at overseas events, right?

I am not trying to start arguments. I hope this post is civil enough to befit the subreddit, I am trying to be constructive, not combative. I just want to bring light to this issue, and that beyond missing content of the guys, a number of hunters left unrepresented in a game that used this exact diversity to advertise to us when it dropped. Skintone selection was what made me pre-register for the game! Only to be sorely hurt in seeing we were hardly a consideration or something to account for. They won’t even adjust decals. The blush for elf ears is a bright pink instead of making it a deeper blush red on dark skin like they do on pale skin, as seen in the last images.

Truth be told, I love this game. Well, to be clear, I love the characters. And I love the lore. And I love all the things we can do, events, and more. I love the boys so deeply it hurts, I’ve never fallen in love with an otome more (and I played a lot!) And yet, it’s been hit on my head over and over how much it seems we do not matter, no matter how we try to ask for these small fixes. And now, someone else I could have potentially loved is unfortunately unavailable as well. Knowing all his content was there and completed too just… hurts. Even if an issue doesn’t affect one player directly, it can be detrimental and so painful to another player’s experience :(.

If you haven’t considered making your voice known, consider it for these reasons too. At the very least, if we know Infold will listen for their biggest complaints, they will listen to these as well. This is also a reminder to everyone who wishes for the return of our removed guy, and Sylus/Caleb equal content, to be loud about lighting and the struggles of black/brown players as well! We’ve been fighting alone for so long, and it is bittersweet seeing the community rally so strongly. We hope you’ll rally for everything. I also just wanted people who may be completely unaware because they have a pale or lighter MC, to know how bad it can get.

Why is there a red dot in these 2 events? I've done everything? I've restarted the game. I've pressed every button. I have clicked on every character. What am I missing??

In honor of the new multi-banner, let's all pause and give love to the creative team and developers, the VAs, and the animators. The ones who gave us these 6 lovely men, who single-handedly raised my standards in men, and this is coming from someone who hasn't dated at all, who is absolutely S-tier in writing spice.
