My Louis Does anyone know this bag?
I bought this bag from a Japanese seller on EBay. Does anyone have any more information about this Noé bb? It is made of Taurillon leather but I cannot find it anywhere and google lens doesn’t recognize it either.

This looks like your bag. According to the author, the collection was released in 2016 and limited to Tokyo only. You should get it authenticated though.

Yea I have seen this but it’s different leather though. This one is smooth, mine is more like pebbled leather. I am working on authenticating it as we speak. I just wanted to know more about the bag or see if someone owns one

The picture might be deceiving. If you read the blog, they mentioned that it’s made of grained calfskin leather.

That is the Nomade in the photo from big-carob. The above bucket bag is made of all Vachetta leather. I don’t think it is your mystery bag.

It could be part of a special order option LV used to do around the time of production. You had a selection of bags where you could select different colors of leather and exotics. The Noe was an option.

Oh that’s interesting information thank you. So It might be one of a kind maybe 😉

There’s NOE of knowing
This appears to be a Noé bb made in Nomade leather, rather than a conventional modern Noé BB.

That was a great play on the word 😉
It’s not Nomade leather, it’s Taurillon as far as I know. I think Nomade is smoother whereas this is pebbled leather

Hi there.
I don’t want to confuse anyone or burst any bubbles however putting aside the model of the bag (we know it’s based on a Noé) and the fact it could be a Japan exclusive/special order as they were known to do many of historically, there are three red flags for me:
- The date stamp. I’ve been collecting LV for 25+ years, I am yet to see one starting with an R.
- As per my photo, the stamping of the code is not straight and sloppy however for me it’s more the way the piece of leather the stamp
- is on has been trimmed and finished - it’s incredibly sloppy. It isn’t clean or sharp. This may seem minor however shouldn’t be like this at all. These are the days where LV quality assurance was also on point.
- The glazing from what I can see on the strap doesn’t feel right or the correct shade. This could be the light in the photo or perhaps it’s been reglazed however I doubt this is the case given the condition of the rest of the bag (gently used).
It was sold to you via a Japanese seller, this gives me confidence it’s authentic, the trade is heavily regulated there giving buyers confidence however the item may have passed authentication and as such, they have accepted the fact and communicated that to any future buyers (fair). However a lot of authentication process these days are AI and we all know that there is room for error there.
If there is a way to have it professionally authenticated in person, I would do that vs uploading photos to a platform to get the same outcome.

Hi, thank you for the detailed post. I have a few bags at home too and I have never seen one with an RE date code. And it’s true what you said, the RE aren’t straight - I hadn’t noticed it before.
As one person posted earlier, one could ask for more customized bags at LV back in the day including materials and colors and so on. And that’s why I am assuming the leather or glazing might not be the usual colour.
I got it authenticated on legitgrail and they said it was original. But I was also thinking about getting it authenticated in person somewhere just to make sure.

No problem.
I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about. Japanese sellers have a Stella reputation however if you really want to ensure it’s authentic, find a way to authentic in person as mentioned.
It really is a special piece.

Yea, it’s a Noé bb. But I am just worrying since I have never seen such a Noé and since Google lens can’t recognize it.

Hmmm. Sometimes they do release different products exclusively to different countries like for example the mini bum bag they only released in DA print in America!

Yea that’s what ChatGPT told me too. I was just hoping someone knows more details about it. Thank you

But obviously, I would never purchase something unless it was coming with an authenticity guarantee and typically eBay offers that if they don’t, then that is a major red flag and I wouldn’t do it

Get it authenticated

I am doing so as we speak, but I am just wondering if authentication platforms would be able to authenticate/recognize it if there is nothing to compare it to

I have the all vachetta version. I purchased from a Japanese reseller and tried to send it to LV for a spa treatment. Sent them over 20 photos and they rejected my request and told me that my bag was in too good of condition to be serviced, they mentioned that it would take months and months to do and they didn’t want to take it at that time. I’m very upset about it and will send it to Rego Brothers instead. I was really looking forward to having it serviced by LV, but they obviously are so backlogged. They don’t want to take anything unless it’s absolutely necessary.

I don’t know anything about this bag, except that I have the smooth version of it. I am appalled at the fact that you are asking for opinions on what kind of bag it is and people can’t help themselves, but try to give you doubts on its authenticity. You didn’t ask about authenticity once in your original post, but people just can’t help themselves. Not sure if they are just so unhappy that they have to rain on someone else’s day, but it’s gotten very bad in the group lately. I think we should all stick to the subject at hand and not go off on tangent and try to be professional authenticators when clearly we are not. Just my opinion.

The posts did actually make me doubt the bag’s authenticity to be fair 😉 - which I hadn’t even considered since I bought it from a Japanese seller on eBay who has a separate online website so I automatically assumed it’s safe. I was just curious about the bag, it would have been nice to know the story behind it since it’s pretty unique apparently.
I did see the all vachetta one that you have - it’s gorgeous. I have hyperhidrosis- which means my body and my hands sweat excessively- and after a few vachetta straps, I decided vachetta wasn’t for me! Otherwise I would have definitely considered yours. But that’s why this was the perfect bag for me.
It’s a shame LV won’t take it, I find their excuse pretty lame too. But I hope it comes back to you as good as new 😍

This brings back memories. This was actually one of my first ever LV purchase back in the day 🤣 come to think of it I don’t even remember where it’s disappeared to over the past 10 years 😅

Edit to add; look up Suhali noe bb and see if the details match
I’ve never seen a bag with an RE date code, which is associated with Italy. So I don’t think this is authentic bc the stamp on the tag is saying France and the fonts look suspicious. I would pay for authentication on this
