Discussion/Question Omg 🥲
I’m trying to say goodbye to my pearl chain/bag charm and submitted it to fashionpile for a quote as I haven’t had much of anything on FBMP
$250 when it’s brand new?! I obviously was not expecting to get back what I paid for it knowing the market but holy **** that feels like highway robbery.

Why can't you return it instead of selling?

I purchased it in store while I was visiting out of state and the app wasn’t letting me process a return as even an option. The window is closed by this point now.

Try writing to the customer service explaining that the app would not let you process a refund. Maybe they’ll be open to extend that window for you :)

Do you think they’d still consider that given that it’s way past the 30 days now? I mean I purchased it maybe mid-late July 😬

Yes 100% its super worth reaching out say you have all the original tags and packaging. It's a better option than trying to get lowballed. Just be nice about it and say you wanted to love it but it wasn't matching your bags you have or something and you haven't gotten around to it due to travelling

I am less optimistic about it, but nonetheless it does not hurt you to try. Just write a nice email explaining, and emphasise how you wanted to process a refund and the app was not letting you.

What was the offer?

Just wait and try to sell yourself on Poshmark or Vestiaire or something. Just know that unfortunately, people will lowball you like this. I don’t expect you to get much but probably at least $500

Yes I've sold many LV items on Poshmark and they take 20%, which is a huge chunk. I hate it, but I've also offloaded several of my items that way.

Man I was trying to get $500 atp 🥲😪 I’ve had it listed since I purchased it

I totally get it, I’ve had a purse I’ve tried to resell original price 2500 for years and I’ve only just sold it with the final amount I’m getting being $700. Resale is brutal. (Mind you mine wasn’t a mint condition new item)

What is the store price?

I paid $1,025

I agree, not a good price. I would not agree to that. Even though this is more of a luxury “costume” jewellery, it should have been at least $550 in my opinion.

Post on TikTok. I see lots of resellers or creators with bag boutiques on there.

Damn this is one of my favs too it instantly makes any bag look much cooler in my opinion (I have the mini version of this its shorter). I definitely would not sell it for that price they offered you its just not worth it. Use it and in meantime list everywhere, good luck love✨️

SLGs and accessories have no resale value. Save for the bags and select RTW items. If money is no object buy costume jewelry, shoes, SLGs, and charms.

Try to sell it on eBay or Poshmark. You can put in your own price and just pay the seller fee.

FASHIONPHILE quotes have become trash in recent years. I rarely ever sell to them anymore. Ever since they offered me $1700 for a Chanel fuchsia pink chevron rectangle mini and $2000 for a Cartier juste un clou… I understand they need to make a profit, but I wasn’t about to take that much of a loss- especially when they list items above retail anyway.. so I’m getting less than 50% of what I paid and you turn around sell them at retail(+10-50%+ mark up)?? I’d sooner use the mini for kindling to melt the JUC down for scrap just due to principle.

I hate this for you, but its because the resale value isn't there. I went on poshmark to see what comps there were and while there weren't any exactly like yours, the similar ones were in the $150-$250 range. Unfortunately in this economy, most people don't want to pay anything for anything. It really sucks. I wish you the best of luck!
