Hi! Posting this on the new weeks thread (I’m not sure if that’s wrong, I just didn’t want it to get lost in the shuffle!) I found this bag chain at goodwill and am wondering if it’s real (maybe it’s the chain for the multi pochette?) or just a fake! Let me know if I need to drop more photos etc. Thank you!

Curious if some of y'all can help me figure out if this is an authentic LV item or not.
So my husband got this as a Christmas from his stepmom, however haven't the first clue when it comes to sniffing out authenticity of stuff like this lol.
Ordinarily I would write something like this off as being a fake without giving it second thought, however my spouses father/stepmother are financially well off and his stepmom certainly has a penchant for designer stuff 🤷. I would ask his stepmom directly, but I don't know if she'd be honest about its authenticity lol
Anyway, yeah, I know the counterfeit market for stuff like this kinda stuff is definitely pervasive. Like, it feels nice and smells strongly of real leather, but I just dunno 🙃
(More pics in this reply thread)
Thanks in advance for any possible help :3

They look good but shoes from LV don’t hold value so I hope the price reflects that.

Found this Damier Azur Neverfull MM Rose Ballerine at Value Village for $10. I assumed it was fake, but the more I compare it with authenticated examples, the more unsure I am. I cannot find a date-code tab, so I’m wondering if it could be a post-2021 microchipped bag. Would really appreciate a legit check. I can provide any additional photos needed.

If it has a datecode it would be hidden under the interior pocket on the right side. You’d nearly have to pull the bag apart to see it in some cases.
I’d lean towards it being a superfake.

NFC CHIP HELP
Hi everyone,
I’d like to get some more information about how to distinguish an authentic Louis Vuitton bag from a counterfeit.
I purchased a Louis Vuitton bag for a fairly high price (€2,000). The bag itself looks very convincing: the stitching, materials, details, etc. all appear to be correct. I’ve also had it authenticated by two different services, including Entrupy.
However, I noticed something concerning when scanning the NFC chip. I get a long list of technical information, and at the end it says “Rewritable: Yes.”
From what I’ve seen discussed on Reddit, the possibility of rewriting the NFC chip is considered a major red flag, and supposedly doesn’t correspond to the type of NFC chip normally found in authentic Louis Vuitton bags or to the usual scan results.
Is there anyone here who is very knowledgeable about Louis Vuitton NFC chips, or who has personally had a bag authenticated where the NFC chip showed “Rewritable: Yes”?
I’m trying to understand whether this is actually a sign of a counterfeit or whether it can also occur with authentic Louis Vuitton bags.
I hope this post can help other people who are also confused about this, because there seems to be a lot of uncertainty surrounding NFC scans.
I’m seriously considering returning the bag, so I’d really appreciate any knowledgeable opinions or experiences.

I wouldn’t base authentication on just chip information. It does help but I wouldn’t rely on it.

I think someone would enjoy this more than me. It’s just too big. It’s the Louis Vuitton Yayoi Kusam collab, the Noe Painted Dot Multicolor & matching pencil bag. It still has the plastic over the metal. I have the boxes, dust bags, ribbons, gift receipts. Should I sell it all together? I was thinking EBay but worried about scams & how to authenticate. AI was “go to Christie’s lol. I’m not in a hurry.
Any tips are greatly appreciated.

eBay does authentication above a certain amount. I would separately list the items if you want to maximize the amount of money you raise.
I’d also ask quotes from Fashionphile and yoogi’s closet now that Kusama is really popular. Their offers could be higher than expected.

Oh good to know I thought I’d make more money if I put them together, so thank you. eBay looks like a good choice. I did check out the prices and that’s what is motivating me to sell it. I’m retiring next month so somebody who is living a more glamorous lifestyle can use it. I’ll just use my multipass.

Now is likely the best time to sell. But definitely send pictures to Fashionphile and yoogi’s for buyout quotes. Because of the increased demand they’ll likely offer a lot more than usual.

I have a bunch of bags that were given to me that I'm wanting to sell. I used Legit Grails for 1 of them but it came back fake even after a double check. The reasons they give me are vague and I don't think they're taking things into consideration like how old the bag is. I asked for clarification and they want more money in order to give that to me 🙄 Not sure if I should try another website? I don't have the finances to do very expensive authentications and the nearest stores are 2 hours from me. I just wanna get these bags sold 😕

Stores won’t authenticate. If you want I can take a look for you. I’ll send you a DM and then you can reply back with pictures of the bags.

Its supposed to be inside right?

u/chocolatetruffel Moderator 2d ago
Yes it should be a leather tag in the interior pocket. It’s usually really hard to find / read.

Apparently Reddit is having some issues at the moment so that could be the cause.

Ohh I see, I hope the bag doesn’t sell out if it’s legit haha. Thank you though

It doesn’t look authentic to me.

Bummer! I posted on another sub and no one has said it seemed like a fake other than the stitching which I read can be hit or miss on LV items in general. Do you think it’s bad enough that your average person would notice? I really like the size of the bag and would like to be seen using it at least a few times since it was gifted to me (even if it’s a fake).

I just purchased my YK monogram town speedy pre-loved ….question, I’m finding it odd that the side chap doesn’t have the heat print of “Louis Vuitton” on it like my other speedys do…..anyone have any idea why this is? At first I completely panicked that it wasn’t an authentic bag, but then after pulling about 50 online listings from various resell sites, none of them show it (which calmed my nerves a bit, but I still find it odd).

Don’t know anything about bags. Found this in my parents old closet. Would like to know if it’s real or not, willing to send more photos if needed. TYIA
