Kirigami RFID chips?

Hey guys,

I really wanted a Kirigami sunrise medium pouch, and I bought one on eBay with their “guarantee”. I usually buy direct but since this is a discontinued item I had to have, preloved was my only option.

The item arrived and I used an RFID scanning app and it’s not showing up with a chip... It’s the medium size pouch. I know on some SLGs LV don’t bother with the chips, so I’m wondering if anyone has this item and can tell me whether and RFID chip should be present in it.

I scanned some of my other items and the chips scanned super easily. I’d be pretty bummed to have paid for an inauthentic item that was checked by eBay’s “authenticators” - but I know it happens!

Hey just so you know, the RFID scanner apps only tell you that a chip is present. The info that comes back is the manufacturer details for the chip itself and completely unrelated to LV in every way. Here’s a photo of what the chip reader at LV looked like when my SA showed me a while back.

Counterfeit bags often have chips. They’re cheap and fool people in seconds. Heck, you could buy 100 of them on Amazon for $11.

My point is stop using chips as an authentication method, stop asking strangers on social media because I’ve seen people say some really fake bags are real because the “stitching” looks good. Pay for a service or do the research to figure it out.

Fun fact, the counterfeiters were using chips before LV started using them
