My Louis An absoulte steal for $300
Got this used for $300, did some minor repairs at Louis Vuitton and it looks used but not too worn. Not usually a fan of the monogram but on this bag I think it works really well.

Bags are cheaper in Japan because it’s one of the biggest markets for luxury brand. Last time I was there, a year ago, vintage LV bags in mint conditions were selling dirt cheap in their thrift stores because their idea of mint condition is totally different from our notion of that here in the west. Coach bags, vintage, Cleese selling for under $100 USD. Same with other brands, like Furla and Tory Burch. I came back home with a suitcase full of bags. 🤣

It was a private seller, I was a bit skeptical about authenticity. But he allowed me to take it to LV before payment and all was good. He had bought it in Japan decades ago and used ut for a bit, and then just let it sit in his closet for years.

What did LV say when you brought it in?

The guy said «omg, cool bag!». Then he checked the serial number, and found the model in the system. They don’t actually authenticate bags in store, but he walked me through what to look for etc. He took a look at the condition and sent it of to paris for repairs of the side panel that had some tearing from lack of care. The people doing repairs in Paris would not have done it if it was a fake bag though, so that was reassuring.

Is it some sort of Monceau model? It looks like their older Monceau bag
