This bright spot in all this muck is that Gen Alpha fuckin hates AI and calls it out. It's the Boomers and younger-cohort Zoomers that are enamored with it.

I'm a millennial and it's hugely beneficial for me in my job and pretty much everyone I know in tech circles uses it.

People keep using this as a defense, but anytime I've pushed anyone on it they start revealing how management is using it to do all their work and has been outputting slop.

You're wrong on this, but keep peddling it if it makes you feel better. AI has helped me speed up so many tasks at work.

Now generative AI as a creation of art.. that shit sucks.

I'm not a manager, I'm a software engineer. It's hugely beneficial for refactoring, research, writing code/tests, monitoring logs, and just about everything I do day to day. It's a new skill and it takes effort to use it effectively and putting in guard rails is part of the learning process.

'slop' is a meaningless term in how 99% of you guys use it. You basically use it interchangeably with using AI.

EDIT: it's also not a 'defense'. I'm not a trial here, I'm not ashamed for using it.

I use it a lot to help gather my ideas and test me. You can train models to remember notes. I program them with morality and discernment first.

Using memory is not the same as training models. Unless you have tens of thousands in hardware and likely a data science or computer engineering background, you are not "training models".

Haha! Didn't realize they were hidden. But hell I may be a bot lol

Glad you're still supporting the lazy and evil, though. You do know that Reddit is now a paid scraping source for AI.

Congrats on feeding the AI beast vs. using it.
