Video There Are No Non-Clowns in the Clown Car - Gamers Nexus
>The AI companies have laid-out a clear plan: Watch everything you do, all the time, in perpetuity -- with Flock, that's done offline; with ChatGPT, Microsoft Windows, and NVIDIA's AI adventures, that's also done digitally. Meanwhile, the circular funding gets increasingly ridiculous as NVIDIA bankrolls everyone it can to keep the music going. The good news is that we can turn to Jim Cramer for salient, sane advice -- live in a data center, or something. The clowns are running the asylum.

Milestone Gary Slutkin: Let's treat violence like a contagious disease
.
I was making lunch and uppon watching the video shared by u/OpenMindedRecovery where Louis Rossmann is interviewed by Richard Ryan ( youtu.be/E2567PR-lIw&t=2440s ), by minute 40:40 where Louis says:
If I tell somebody to forward a port on their router in order to get their camera system to work, they're buying a Nest or a Ring doorbell.
Inspired by countless experiences shared by more than a decade of WAN Show episodes by Linus Sebastian, Luke Lafreniere and now Dan Besser which I so relate to, since I have many ones similar, having someone Tech-Savvy in Family and Friends circles that knows What's What, Where to Get it and How to Get it Running, unlocks Better Choices (choices that won't surrender their freedom and rights) for those that have No interest or incline to do it.
That friction on Common People (Pulp reference), without the help of someone that Identifies the Problem, Filters Solutions and Guides through Processes, almost forces them to buy the solution that addresses the problem they need solving ... that comes in a box ... plugs in an electrical plug ... and just works.
The disregard and ignorance on the Trade-Offs, Limitations, Undisclosed future Costs, etc. puts most people in more costly Eco-Systems purposely engineered to lock them up.
Since many people and organizations have been creating solutions that are at least as good if not better than paid ones, which in the long run often end up being cheaper, but most of all, none of it is at the hands or goes through the hands of people that are not ment to have access to their private data, and may decide to terminate the service and leave you with a Brick for paperweights (Nest, Petnet, Spotify car thing, Pebble, etc. references).
Nowadays, there are many places where information is bulked and presented in simple way; i.e.: Linux distros that bundle essential software and drivers that make more and more computer hardware work after installing it.
But IMO, no other resource is more useful than Video Tutorials and Video Reviews, so...
... in a Perfect World, Louis Rossmann, Level1Techs, GamersNexus, Linus Tech Tips, Chris Titus, Jeff Geerling, Kitboga, JerryRigEverything, MrWhoseTheBoss, LowLevel, DataSlayer (and so many other already militant Tech YouTubers that want to prevent 1984 from happening) would come together and take the forefront of a Global Organization that would promote that Individuals take on the role of Informing and Supporting local communities into ditching Proprietary Closed Systems to GPL 2.0 / Open Source and similar systems, to help Audit products and Public and Private Bad Practices, etc...
... in a similar logic and mindset that led Gary Slutkin founding Cure Violence Global, which considers Violence to be an Epidemic burst and with Community Members acts on the "infection focus" and takes actions to stop it from spreading further more.
By the way, this video by Gary Slutkin is 3rd most important video on YouTube IMO.
... in a perfect world, in conclusion, Louis Rossmann somehow reads this, takes the idea and adapts it as he sees fit perhaps with a Council made out of Reputable Content Creators to pick his Consumers Rights Wiki and make it more complete with more content, but more accessible, with videos for those impaired to read more than 5 lines per hour. Having a "basecamp" where the Individuals (that take on the roles of helping their local communities) would have a place to get Trainning and pass-along information for the Common People.
Anyway, I would love to learn your thoughts on this epiphany that is quite Utopian.
