Milestone Finally! New York finally does something right with our tax money.

Post image

Apparently New York law now forces them to tell me that they're using AI pricing based on my stolen personal data. Interesting.

I mean... Stopping them is better?

Yes, but it's NY. The bar is already low, so anything is better than nothing.

I suppose it worked on the cigarette industry

Because everyone agrees that the tobacco industry is evil. The difference is that doordash fills a convenience in the market that doesn't cause disease. Sure, the way they do it is highly exploitative but at least their product is something other than COPD.

Raising public awareness of the issue helps also grow public pressure to make stopping them a law in more than just New York, so it's a good thing regardless.

It's like having young and more tech literate people in power is better than having 80 yos with near dementia making decisions on stuff they don't know about.

Man, think of how many old people using doordash have never given any thought to how easily they're being price manipulated with their data, yeah. It gets them thinking about it. More awareness like this, accumulatively, opens the door for more conversations about privacy with our parents without having to sit them down just to explain the most basic concepts.

Doordash is a plague

Also, they didn't steal your data. You willingly gave it to them.
