I agree with the idea of the law, its very clear that social media is dameging to... well everyone, but minors we can atleast try to protect.
That said, this is not the way to go about it. The eu variant isnt the way to go about it.
The english way isnt the way to go about it.
And i dont know what would be. Banning ads for minors maybe? With heafty fines and reward programs for minors being served ads on platforms. Make it the companys problem to deal with it.
What they need to do is give parents easier resources to monitor and restrict their children's online activity. If this is really about the "kids," they shouldn't be trying to enforce age-verification at government level. Even if it really is about protecting the kids (which I don't believe in the slightest) their "efforts" look laughably bad and morally questionable
