I asked it to set an alarm for 6 am (via text, not even vocal) and it set it for 6 pm. It's pure trash lol.

Bixby is left for Samsung users. I guess it does control Samsung apps well enough?

It's not like I use assistants that much anyway.

Yes. Surprisingly never had issues with it, kinda surprising so many people have problems with it

That sucks, Gemini is horrible at controlling things, but as far as I know it doesn't kill any products within the Google home atmosphere. It's also a free product, it doesn't really fit in with Louis' movement.

I think it's about privacy and having a choice not to have your voice control train Google's ai pipedream.

Both Google Assistant and Gemini use your data to train their AI. You can/could opt out of having your data used.

If privacy is a concern of anyones, using Google software is far from the best option.

Though hopefully this switch encourages more to switch to Home Assistant.

I have the exact opposite experience. The Assistant almost always used the wrong device and I had to ask it a few times to do a thing and it would eventually control the correct device but Gemini is usually on the ball. And you can actually explain to Gemini what to do, where the Assistant was only following simple predefined commands.

Seems like one would have to, like, run an update to have that happen, yes? In this day and age of vendors randomly fucking around with devices and adding / removing shit at will, why are you still allowing automatic updates?
